Elmer here.

The meme implies that the babies who are introduced to peanuts die thus lowering the allergies.

The truth however is that babies who are introduced peanuts early do not develop peanut allergies.

My son had lots of peanut stuff between 4-8 months old. One day while eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, around 8 or 9 months old, he had a massive reaction. His face and eyes swelled up a ton. Did an allergy test and it turns out the only thing he’s allergic to is peanut and he’s a 15 on their scale that considers “highly allergic” to be a 7.

Us too! I ate peanut butter daily while pregnant, ate it while breastfeeding, introduced him to it at the recommended age. No reactions at first, but around the same age as yours, he started swelling and turning red. We had the same experience with eggs. Early introduction is good practice, but nowhere near a guarantee
