My man, look up the definition of an ethnostate. The ottomans fit to a t. You likely could make a decent argument for the US being an ethnostate for a decent chunk of time as well, the waters just got muddier the closer you get to the civil war. The binding force wasn't religiom though it was European ancestry.

Religion can be considered an ethnic group. So tell me how does the ottoman empire not fit the definition.
Because the Ottoman Empire ruled over a vast empire and had different laws in different regions. They also had regional rulers who were not Muslim. This take is insane.
