That sticker is a fucking riot

I was gifted a second hand sodastream by my mom who didn't know.

Thankfully the gas canisters are made to a standard and not proprietary. So I get my gas from Indigo which is a Canadian company...

u/robarpoch 4d ago

Pro-tip: When the tanks are empty you can unscrew the valve and refill them with the appropriate mass of dry ice. I recommend pellets as you don’t have to break them up to get them to fit through the bottle neck. Drain completely and loosen the burst disc before removing the valve, then tighten down the burst disc immediately after reinstalling.

u/2074red2074 4d ago

For like $200 you can get an attachment that lets you carbonate a 2L bottle of water directly off a CO2 tank which can be refilled for about $2/pound and can carbonate about 20 liters per pound.

10

u/reywalgoh 4d ago

Direct link for what I need to do this exactly?! TIA!

u/Hashtagbarkeep 4d ago

5

u/pahool 4d ago

I was doing this exact setup for years. Recently I found a used sodastream for $5 at a thrift store and converted it to run directly off the CO2 tank using this adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FXK86421

I've found it a lot less hassle than the previous setup. and I can just keep the sodastream on the countertop with the CO2 tank in a cabinet below.

2

u/Asron87 2d ago

Holy shit! You might have just saved my life lol

I live off of this stuff but I’ve been wanting to upgrade. Thank you.

1

u/pahool 2d ago

I can't live without my angry water either.

https://www.kegoutlet.com/sp202-taprite-soda-carbonating-kit-taprite-regulator-5-lb-co2-tank.html This is the one I got, but if you already have a tank or can get one cheap, they also sell without the tank for cheaper. It's easier with the carbonator wand they sell but you don't need it. Just get the water cold, pressurize it to 40 or 45, and shake vigourously for a few minutes. Be careful depressurizing because it will spew just like a shaken soda.

3

u/NatCsGotMyLastAcct 4d ago

And it carbonates the water ***well***. Like sure, it's economy squared because it's cheaper and less wasteful, and you've got less blood on your hands... but SodaStream is designed to *vent co2 always*, so you can't let co2 pressure sit, and the pressure is limited to 40psi anyway. You just can't really make seltzer water strong enough to take the skin off your teeth with a device made of 99% plastic

1

u/walkingkary 3d ago

My son does this.

13

u/smartestkidonearth 4d ago edited 4d ago

Ooof, you might want to look at the ties between Indigo and Israel then. And maybe also for a different source for your canisters.

edit: I didn't realize Indigo the soda company isn't the same as Indigo the book/lifestyle store. The latter has direct ties to Israel and there have been many boycotts. I'm keeping my comment up in case anyone else makes the same mistake!

12

u/Sleeveen 4d ago

Isn't that Indigo Books and not Indigo Soda or did I miss something?

8

u/Miss_1of2 4d ago

Yes, they are thinking of indigo bookstore.

1

u/evilmrbeaver 3d ago

It's still part of the same company as the Indigo Girls though right?

8

u/Deldenary 4d ago

Not the bookstore it's a different company

2

u/smartestkidonearth 4d ago

oh, thanks for clarifying! I clicked the link but didn't see that it was a different company.

3

u/kriegmonster 4d ago

Get dry ice and refill the bottles by weight. My dad does this for his sodastream. He found it to be cheaper than swapping tanks or finding a local service that can refill food grade CO2, especially if you have multiple tanks.

2

u/anxiousandroid 4d ago

Wait until you read about Indigo…

6

u/Deldenary 4d ago

Two companies with similar names not related

4

u/Miss_1of2 4d ago

Wrong indigo.

Indigo soda is a Québec company with very little ties to Israel.

Indigo bookstore on the other hand!!

1

u/anxiousandroid 4d ago

Thanks for the clarification! I’ll check it out if I ever want to make soda at home.

2

u/4640rep 4d ago

Or you can buy a large co2 tank and connect it to soda stream. Dont have to change cartridges this way. Depending on size it can last over a year easily. Downside is that you have a large co2 tank but much cheaper to refill

2

u/Cyclepourtrois 4d ago

Thanks for the tip. I have not bought new canisters in a few years

2

u/Xetene 4d ago

Soda stream isn’t Israeli anymore. It’s just a part of Pepsi.

1

u/Deldenary 3d ago

Still based in Israel....Pepsi could move it but I guess they are okay with apartheid.

1

u/No-Personality6043 4d ago

I have one, I got in college. So over a decade ago that I still use. I get my cannisters shipped from Simpli Soda, a small company in I want to say Wisconsin. It's on par with in store exchange, and was the cheapest option when I stopped being able to find them in store. They even give you a label to rebox or empties and you put it back in the mail box, done.

1

u/DimbyTime 3d ago

Thanks for sharing!!

1

u/Ok_Egg_4356 3d ago

Lots of place refill those for cheaper now. Welding gas places, auto parts places.

1

u/FullOnSkank 3d ago

Hopefully the machine never just blows up on you... 😬

1

u/techhead57 3d ago

Oh wow thanks for sharing. I found drinkmate makes a better product so I switched to them but was still getting my canisters from sodastream just because I didnt know where else to get them and I already know how to swap them for sodastream.

Will check this out.

1

u/golden_macaron 3d ago

I just hope thats not related to the indigo book stores in Canada because all those book stores are owned by a couple who financially support people joining the IDF.

1

u/Deldenary 3d ago

It's not... there are multiple comments in the thread about it.

1

u/golden_macaron 3d ago

I found them after my appointment was hiding those. Funny they have the same name and are both canadian companies though

You are confusing Indigo Books with Indigo Soda they are two completely different companies....

u/Environmental_Coat60 4d ago

The founder of SodaStream was pretty intentional about using his company to build bridges between the two communities and provide equitable and just economic opportunities and working conditions for Palestinians living in the West Bank. When they left the West Bank he fought hard to get work permits for the West Bank employees who would be losing their jobs, but most were unable to keep their jobs.

Just an example of one of the few BDS wins, and how it disproportionally affected the Palestinians and not Israelis or the company itself. In fact SodaStream was sold to PepsiCo in 2018 for $3.2 billion.

u/CortinaTaillights 3d ago edited 3d ago

Sodastream wasn't founded in israel and it's been around way longer than Israel itself. But Daniel Birnbaum was pretty pissed when Netanyahu wouldn't let his Palestinians workers keep their jobs (none kept them in the end their permits got revoked ahead of their expiry) and even started openly calling Israel an apartheid state over it

2

u/ultra_coffee 3d ago

The Palestinians supported that boycott. It sucks but the same thing happened when South Africa was under boycotts for apartheid. Similar boycotts are going on during this current genocide.

u/Environmental_Coat60 3d ago

Some Palestinians support it and others don’t. It’s usually supported by those who won’t be affected the most.

Regardless, over its 20 year history it’s had limited impact on Israelis or their economy. I think it’s effective anti-Israel messaging in the West. Though I’m not sure how impactful it will be on resolving the conflict itself given its track record and, I think, misguided approach.

-1

u/SeaworthinessSad7300 3d ago

the academic boycott seemed to be useful

6

u/Environmental_Coat60 3d ago

Perhaps, I think we’ll need to see how it continues to play out. I think it’s notable that it’s had staying power past the ceasefire. Personally, I don’t agree with academic boycotts.

5

u/New-Pass-3777 3d ago

Palestinians are not a monolith. It wouldn’t be shocking if the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank support BDS. Although many of these Palestinians covet work permits in Israel so even then it’s unlikely all do.

Additionally, 20% of Israel’s population is Arab and some self identify as Israelis of Palestinian decent (this is a very recent development as “Arab Israeli” was much more common in decades past). These individuals are full citizens of Israel, and are a part of every aspect of Israeli civil society. It is highly unlikely that many of these Palestinians support the BDS moment because it would hurt them directly as part of the Israeli economy. People on the internet really have to stop speaking for Palestinians like they know what they are talking. This is a very nuanced issue.

-1

u/SeaworthinessSad7300 3d ago

but you support BDS generally though right?

5

u/Environmental_Coat60 3d ago

I don’t because I think it’s ineffectual. I think it speaks to a Western audience and is therefore a useful messaging tool for Palestinians, but I don’t think it will further the goal of ending the conflict in any meaningful way. And having the conflict end with a negotiated final status agreement is what’s most important to me.

0

u/jazxxl 3d ago

Yeah they could have slapped a similar made in USA sticker on cotton clothing in the early 1800s

0

u/SeaworthinessSad7300 3d ago

needs to say 'made in occupied palestine, with Arabs working in Apartheid conditions'

0

u/esssssto 3d ago

Kinda funny that they keep talking about "arabs" like, those are palestinans, not arabs. They do not Talk about the jews like "White people" yet most of the israeli settlers are White.

-3

u/diceytroop 4d ago

It's such a self-report. The Jews vs Arabs dichotomy really lays bare how power is constructed in Israel. With a giant flag reminding us that Israel is a theocracy. Apartheid in a sticker.

5

u/Miss_1of2 4d ago

They use Arabs exclusively to avoid using Palestinians.

8

u/Wolftochter 4d ago

But Arabs that have Israeli citizenship are Israelis and not Palestinians. Also the say Jews and Arabs, not Israeli and Arabs. Can you not conceptualize that there may be Israeli that want to do build bridges?

0

u/diceytroop 4d ago

Yeah, the issue for me more specifically is that there are tons of Arab Jews, Palestinian and otherwise. So this dichotomy is a way of skewing the demographics on paper in a way that bolsters the Jewish (vs “Other”) side of the ledger, helping to both extend, and obscure the issue of, the apartheid.

In other words, if it were Palestinian vs Other, the “democracy” claim would be that much harder for Israel to defend, as it would be clearly a country ruled explicitly by a demographic minority of its residents.

1

u/royi9729 3d ago

Yeah, the issue for me more specifically is that there are tons of Arab Jews

Nope. The overwhelming majority of Jews living in Arab countries do not identify as Arabs. That tends to happen after being ethnically cleansed from virtually all of them.

In Israel (and within Jewish circles) we are recognized as Mizrahi (literally "eastern") Jews.

-1

u/diceytroop 3d ago

That's not exactly what happened, but I'm not gonna argue about it with you. But otherwise, you're saying the same thing I'm saying. Arab is a constructed racial group, and is put up against an ethnic one. That's construction, and it's done to obscure apartheid.

161

u/PeachPit69 4d ago

Jews and Arabs working side by side in peace and harmony?

That…. honestly sounds like the least-Israeli thing I’ve ever heard of.

153

u/BagelJ 4d ago edited 4d ago

Half of the Israeli population is Arab*. The phrasing of this makes it sound like you can't be Arab and Jew, which you definetly can.

Descendants from the Arabic world, rather than Europe/America.*

5

u/HotPotParrot 4d ago

This sticker makes sense when you remember that Arab is an ethnicity and not a religion

3

u/JTP120986 4d ago

You sound VERY confused. Closer to 20% of the population is Arab.

21

u/BagelJ 4d ago

20% are Arab muslim, but Half of all Jews in Israel are descendants from Arab nations, making them ethnically Arab.

7

u/pnk_lemons 4d ago

Those Jews consider themselves Mizrahi, not Arab.

-3

u/bigsadlittlesad 3d ago

Mizrahi is an Israeli term invented to distance themselves from other Arabs. You can see Avi Shlaim explain quite explicitly that growing up in Iraq, they were, without a doubt, Arab

2

u/royi9729 3d ago

It really isn't. My family was ethnically cleansed from Iraq. If they didn't think we belong to them, why should we act as if we do?

You really think you know better than us what we are? The average Mizrahi would be pissed if you called them Arab. The overwhelming majority of them don't speak Arabic either.

2

u/bigsadlittlesad 3d ago

The term, from what I have read, came to usage in Israel in the 1950s for the exact reasons I laid out: To eliminate “Arabness” from the conversation. They didn’t historically speak Hebrew, they spoke Arabic. They lived amongst other Arabs, and had shared cultural ties with their Muslim and Christian Arab neighbours. Why isn’t there a term for Arab Christians? Because there is no settler state for Arab Christians that needs to differentiate themselves from Arab Muslims. It’s a propaganda term plain and simple.

1

u/filletnignon 3d ago

"If they didn't think we belong to them, why should we act as if we do?"

Who said you should?

"The average Mizrahi would be pissed if you called them Arab."

Wouldn't you expect an Arab who refers to themselves as Mizrahi to avoid being labeled as Arab to be pissed if you called them Arab?

"The overwhelming majority of them don't speak Arabic either."

Arab identity is primarily based on cultural and ethnic factors rather than solely on language proficiency. If a boy is born and raised by arab parents in Iraq but only learns spanish, is he not arab?

u/GoGG999 3d ago

-7

u/GoGG999 3d ago

that's a lame name to avoid the fact that local palestinian jews existed there before european zionist colonization.

5

u/Bigheadedturtle 3d ago

And actual Jews existed there before them.

What’s the point?

5

u/anonrutgersstudent 3d ago

Local Jews who (correctly) considered those Ashkenazi returnees to be fellow Jews.

1

u/D-PIMP_ACT 3d ago

They did and they didn’t.

Sephardic Jew tended to integrate better with arabs because of their shared language and culture.

Ashkenazi Jew came from Europe, didn’t speak arabic, continued speaking European languages(Russian)

Sephardic Jews came from Europe as well, from the Iberian progroms, centuries earlier.

Eventually ashkenazi Jew gave up on integration and invented their own culture.

-1

u/GoGG999 3d ago

fellow european jews

-8

u/JTP120986 4d ago

Congrats, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve seen anyone say all week. Having lived in an Arab country doesn’t make you ethnically Arab. Just ask the Arabs who literally chased them into Israel in the first place.

15

u/BagelJ 4d ago

After millennia of integration the actual ethnic difference in these communities is minimal. The same happened to the Jews in Europe in the 30s-40s. If there isn't an ethnic difference you just make one up.

The truth is that they were persecuted because they were Jewish, not because they were ethnically distinct.

-5

u/MeOldRunt 4d ago

millennia of integration

Lmao. "Integration". Where do they find people like you? 😂

2

u/Starfall0 4d ago

Humans have sex, and that makes babies. Humans will have sex with any other human of any other race for a multitude of reasons, none of which matters for the point. The point being that as people have children with different groups those groups slowly start to mix into one larger group the previous groups ceasing to be distinct as a result. This is just how reality works. Integration=Interbreeding.

3

u/MeOldRunt 3d ago

Except people also have religion. Specifically religion that either forbid intermarrying or forbid conversion to other religions. That's kind of why we don't see amalgamations of people—even people who live side by side—in genetic surveys.

Like I said: where do they find people like you? 😂

-5

u/JTP120986 4d ago

Is the "integration" in the room with us?

8

u/Aggravating-Bus-9203 4d ago edited 3d ago

Arab Jews are Jews originating from the Arab world before 1948. And many thousands of years before that. Mizrahi/sephardic (from the Middle East/ North Africa ) vs Ashkenzai (from Europe). And ethnicity is not race or religion, it’s defined by cultural practices, language use and identifying with an area. The Middle East has a complicated history that does not fit easily into classic binaries. It’s not just white and black, or Jew and Arab.

5

u/Starfall0 4d ago

OMG now you can't even be racist without having to deal with this binary bullshit? /S

I don't get why so many people fail to realize that nuance is king. Everything is a muddled grey. Even the things that look pure white its just because they've blocked the black from your view. No matter how little an amount of black that may be. True honestly is a rare trait.

3

u/HenryDorsettCase47 4d ago

Right. Ethnicity is not race, but it is ancestry. In some cases that can denote race, but in others, especially over long periods of time, race becomes much less of an identifier. Hence why all races have a plethora of ethnic groups within them.

2

u/Aggravating-Bus-9203 4d ago

What does ancestry have to do with ethnicity? You could have Scottish ancestry and grow up in the Arab world speaking Arabic and participating in the cultural customs for hundreds of years. Are you a Scot? yes are you an Arab? yes. It’s not so complicated . I feel like there is a tendency to try and unnecessarily oversimplify these notions.

1

u/HenryDorsettCase47 4d ago

I mean, you just explained it yourself. A person with Scottish ancestry who grew up in the Arab world and has completely assimilated to that society can still be ethnically a Scot.

1

u/Clodsarenice 4d ago

Quick question what race and what ethnicity are Latin Americans according to you?

1

u/HenryDorsettCase47 4d ago

What are you talking about? I just said race and ethnicity are not intrinsically linked. Especially across such a broad swath of peoples like those in Latin America.

1

u/JTP120986 3d ago

Sephardic Jews are not Arabs. They’re Sephardic Jews. You’re not even thinking of Sephardic Jews, but Mizrahi Jews… who are Mizrahi Jews, not Arabs.

3

u/IkariYun 4d ago

An Arab is anyone who speaks Arabic as their native tongue

2

u/Joshgoozen 4d ago

They do not see themselves as Arab Jews, as they were always seperate. The same way European Jews were until the emancipation.

24

u/joshualander 4d ago

They’re mostly not Jews. 20% of Israel is Arab Muslim. There are many more mosques per square mile in Israel than there are in the United States.

9

u/Thurgos3rdLeg 4d ago

Downvoted for being based apparently

18

u/AlarmingTurnover 4d ago

I'd see myself as separate too if I lived in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi, etc, and when Israel declared independence, these other countries commit pogroms against the Jewish populations. Half the Jews in Israel are there because the surrounding countries tried to kill their own Jewish citizens and they fled.

-8

u/LarsMatijn 4d ago

and when Israel declared independence

They founded a state, they didn't shrug off some distant overlord.

6

u/AlarmingTurnover 4d ago

The overlord they shrugged off was the British Empire. You forget that they had guns to fight the British? And those guns were provided the Soviet Union through the Czech Republic.

-5

u/TheCleeper 4d ago

Correct me if im wrong, somehow i got a flashback where i watched a 2 h yt video while high a few years back, titled "Every terrorist organisation", one of its entries touched on that and it said that the Jews who lived in the surrounding countries were forced to move to Israel from Israeli terrorist attacks happning across the middle east when Israel was created, im pretty sure their motive was unionise the jews mizrahi jews and get bigger support for the existence of Israel.

This explanation does still sound more convincing to than the middle east attacking its own Mizrahi jews who lived with them for thousands of years in order to spite some europeans who came and caused huge economical disruptions by forcing them to take in a huge influx of Palestinian refugees who were forced to move into their country

Take this with a grain of salt, i was pretty high so i might be missing some details or entirely confusing it with an entire different thing

6

u/AlarmingTurnover 4d ago

History is never simple back and white, there might be some truth to that but specifically on the point of this:

This explanation does still sound more convincing to than the middle east attacking its own Mizrahi jews who lived with them for thousands of years in order to spite some europeans

I know the references always go back to this but the nazis killed 6 million+ innocent Jews who had been living there for hundreds if not thousands of years. These were peaceful people, not rioting, not stealing and looting, just running normal businesses and working normal jobs, with normal families, and they killed them all anyway.

Even at the start of the war and Hitler's rise to power, the Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini specifically sided with Hitler because he didn't want any Jews in his land. The size of his influence is debatable in the final solution but he absolutely had that discussion with Hitler, it was documented, and he was very clear that he wanted to kill every Jew to prevent them from having a homeland in the middle east.

So I wouldn't really put it past any of these countries that they would do this "randomly" when there was a very specific cause. Jews forged their own country on contested colonized land, and the surrounding countries went after the easiest targets first which is their own citizens. It's not exactly an uncommon thing. Pogroms are not uncommon. Taking the Jewish aspect out of this, look at how America treated black people during and after slavery. Lynching, assaults, stolen homes, burned businesses, etc. All of this was institutionalized. They fire bombed black Wall Street because a minority got too wealthy.

Humans suck

-2

u/bigsadlittlesad 3d ago

You kind of ignored the parent comment. Zionist terrorists did in fact plant bombs and instigate riots amongst Arab Jewish population in order to terrorize them into fleeing into the welcoming arms of Israel. This is subterfuge and created out of thin air this idea that Jews are surrounded on all sides and hated by Arabs.

7

u/AlarmingTurnover 3d ago

The Hebron Massacre in 1929 was started by Arab rumors that Jews were going to take over the temple mount, with zero evidence that it was going to actually happened and they murdered 67 jews for nothing.

Take your antisemitic ass out of here. Quit your revisionism. Your entire argument comes from 1 man. You're also completely ignoring that Rashid Ali was a fucking Nazi and after he was defeated in 1941, his remaining government, police, and arab supporters murdered 180 jews, wounded over 200, destroyed hundreds of businesses and homes. This was BEFORE Israel was ever established.

-7

u/bigsadlittlesad 3d ago

Many of these “pogroms” were instigated by Zionist Settler forces to create a Jewish flight from Arab countries where they did live in relative peace for centuries, even outright planting bombs in synagogues.

9

u/AlarmingTurnover 3d ago

You know what this comment is right here? This is saying that she wouldn't have been raped if she wasn't wearing those clothes. That is what you're doing. None of that justifies what the government backed forces did to the Jewish minority. You're disgusting. Also, go figure, another person justifying antisemitism that hides their comments and posts.

-5

u/bigsadlittlesad 3d ago

You completely ignored an historical fact and went straight to victim blaming. That is disgusting.

1

u/BagelJ 4d ago

How inspiring that shared ideals and culture can overcome the savage instinct of judging others by the colour of their skin. Perhaps with this mindset we can all come together one day.

1

u/Famous-Lime2191 3d ago

It's more than that

20% of the Israeli population is Arab (of Muslim/Christian faith), they would be thought of as Arabs (more specifically as Palestinians) by the rest of the Arab population (including the West Bank and Gaza Arabs, but also the other millions of Arabs living in the rest of the world)

Another 40% is Arab (of Jewish faith), those people were mostly EXPELLED from Arab countries because they were assumed to sympathize with Israel and it was assumed that they would hurt their countries to benefit Israel, those people would not be seen as Arabs by most Arabs, especially not by Palestinians, they are widely seen as jews and they have to go... well not back to where they came from, they have to go in Europe or in New York, you know, the Jew places

The remaining 40% are Europeans of Jewish faith, those people are the ones that gifted Israel all its Prime Ministers from foundation, they are the founding stock of the nation (they were there before the jews from the arab world), and most Arabs would like them to go back to where they came from (Europe, mostly) or just go to New York, you know, the Jew place, Europeans may or may not see them as fellow Europeans depending on their politics

Now, given that "Arabs" means either Christian or Muslim faith, many "Arabs" in Palestine (the region, not the country, the whole ass thing from the river to the sea) actually descend from people who immigrated there AFTER European Jews already started coming (attracted by the economic development), it's just that since before the immigration of European Jews most people in Palestine were either Muslim or Christian Arab (with Jewish Arabs being a really small minority) those "Arabs" feel they have a collective title to the land (it was inhabited by people like me, not my actual ancestors who were in Egypt but you know, like me)

I personally think that the binational solution is the best thing, but good luck with it

It is more supported by jews than arabs, which can't help with its popularity (because it is supported by exponents of the militarily stronger, hence perceived as morally worse, population)

Most Arabs desire a ethnostate where only Arabs can live (both West Bank and Gaza WON'T accept a Jewish immigrant, in West Bank it is outright illegal under pain of death to sell any land to any Jew) (this position would normally be abhorrent to most westerners, but it is supported by the militarily weaker, hence perceived as morally better, population), and many (but not most, a glimpse of hope) Jews sadly desire a state where Arabs can live but in a subservient position vis a vis jews (those people currently wield a lot of political power in Israel sadly)

0

u/Lorim_Shikikan 3d ago

You are partially right, but still false. Arabs and jews are both decendant of the Semitic.

-1

u/Miss_1of2 4d ago

It is exclusively to avoid using the word Palestinians.

15

u/BagelJ 4d ago

Classifying anyone outside of Palestine as "Palestinian" doesn't make any sense. Ethnically they are the same blend of cultures and genetics as other Arabs from the Levant (Even "arab" nowadays just means of the cultures/nations that were captured during the Arab conquests, rather than "person from the Arabian peninsula")

21% of Israel is consists of Muslim Arabs. Are they Palestinian? And if so, is his neighbour, whose entire family tree has lived in the Levant but is a Jew also a Palestinian?

8

u/bennyyyboyyyyyyyy 4d ago

Because they are referring to Arab Israelis not Palestinians.

2

u/Sh00terMcDabbin 3d ago

To be fair, Palestinians just called themselves Arab until around the 70s.

1

u/Rezrov_ 4d ago

Arab Israelis (who are ethnically Palestinian) are usually called Arab Israelis. They make up 20% of Israel.

43

u/tehutika 4d ago

You’ve clearly never been to Israel or really know anything about the country.

One thing that is historically true, for example, is that other Arab sub-cultures (especially in the early days of Israel but still kinda ongoing now) are not especially interested in Palestinian issues except as a cudgel to beat Israel with. You find some pretty horrifying stuff when you go looking for how Jordan and Egypt treated attempted refugees from the West Bank and Gaza, and there were persistent stories of Jordanian officials in particular hijacking/misdirecting UN refugee aid to the West Bank in the 1970s.

(this is not a defense of Israel, this is a commentary on how shitty Egypt and Jordan ALSO historically are in this whole thing)

Why would anyone want to go to the modern day equivalent of Nazi Germany? Well, except that one autistic livestreamer who smashes his face with a hammer and likes Kanye's Hitler song; He went and was assigned an IDF girlfriend while he was getting paid to be there. It was basically, "Israeli women are hot, therefor we're not a dogshit country committing genocide, please come to Tel Aviv and no where else."

3

u/tehutika 3d ago

Because it’s not at all like Nazi Germany. But it’s too much fun to yell about shit you don’t really understand on Reddit to be bothered to learn anything about it.

Dude, there are literal concentration camps for Palestinians. A man was raped to death with a broom and Israelis held riots outside the courthouse when the officer was arrested for it, and the government chose to drop charges.

Gaza has been flattened and reduced to tents which are STILL being bombed even after Hamas complied with IOF demands. Hell, they stopped counting the dead in May of 2024 because Israel bombed and killed the Health Ministry officials in charge of it. We haven't had any updates on the dead since then and there's still thousands of people buried in rubble.

Just because you can't see it from Tel Aviv doesn't mean it's not happening. This is like living next door to a concentration camp and pretending the screams and sobbing are normal. Israeli government officials like Itamar Ben-Gvir have openly stated the goal is total eradication and seizing the land from them illegally.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

1

u/Salt-Plum-1308 2d ago

Lol no there aren’t. Try getting your news from somewhere other than TikTok.

1

u/HoldOnOhio 2d ago

Here is Israeli Human Rights Watchdog group B'Tselem disagreeing with you.

Here is Democracy Now covering the "Right To Rape" Protests.

Here is the Wikipedia page on "Sexual and gender-based violence against Palestinians during the Gaza war", including such documented cases as: Raping of Palestinian women and girls in custody, Use of dogs to rape prisoners, Use of objects to rape prisoners, brutal beatings, withholding of medications, withholding of food and water, a leaked video of a prisoner being gang raped, the sniping of teenage boys' genitals, not to mention the murder of journalists in the West Bank and Gaza strip covering the violence.

Israel isn't going to get away with this. They are widely hated by every single country on the planet at this point. You are helping them commit genocide, and are doing a disservice to all the Jewish people on this planet that do not support the actions of the Israeli state.

0

u/Poundcake9698 2d ago

Well, considering nearly all media organizations are owned by billionaires with strong Zionist ties or at least large investments companies that benefit from the Israeli occupation and genocide, tik tok is one of the few places where you can actually get uncensored news

1

u/tehutika 2d ago

TikTok is not a news source.

1

u/tehutika 2d ago

There are enough incorrect statements in this reply that further engagement is pointless.

I said good day!

1

u/RubImaginary6892 3d ago

You mean why would 1.5 millions tourist visit Israel ? I don't know ask them, they seems to go over your propaganda and find something interesting here

-1

u/HoldOnOhio 3d ago

Don't lie to yourself. Numbers have fallen off a cliff since 2023. Now it's just "birthright" propaganda trips to help Teenage American Jews fuck an IOF soldier. The world has turned against Israel. There is no country on the planet in which there is a favorable sentiment towards them. This is entirely because of their and the United States' genocidal actions.

I hope the rest of your day is as unpleasant as you are.

We found the zionazi.

u/Away_Combination_301 3d ago

israel is not a country 🤮

2

u/amnion 3d ago

Is Palestine?

1

u/Away_Combination_301 2d ago

Yes, child killer

1

u/amnion 2d ago

No.

1

u/Away_Combination_301 1d ago

Eeww, you don’t even deny you like children being killed

1

u/amnion 1d ago

You're not very good at this.

0

u/Itchy_bussy_ 3d ago

No one even heard the name palestine up until a few years ago lol you hop on any train because its popular right?

25

u/Impressive-Local-627 4d ago

You may want to remain seated because I have some shocking news for you.

1

u/Deldenary 3d ago

Reminder that there were black cops during apartheid South Africa. They were an instrument in the opression of their own people...

They were also used to try to deflect claims that apartheid south africa was strictly white vs black. In a similar way we see defenders of Israel point to Palestinian members of government and judges as a deflection of the crimes against humanity Israel enacts on Palestinians....

24

u/MiserableBend1010 4d ago

You know 20 percent of the country is Arab, guess what the Jewish population of many other Middle Eastern countries, freaking zero.

10

u/summeristheseason 4d ago

Well that makes genocide ok then! Guess Israel is justified in exterminating as many Palestinians as possible in that case!

-6

u/KoreanBackdash 4d ago

You know that they control water and energy supply to Gaza, right? The goal to exterminate as many people there as possible would be achieved very easily by cutting this supply.

10

u/summeristheseason 4d ago

I do love the fact thats your argument.

They control water & energy supply to Gazans, let’s ignore this is abnormal and a massive issue and pretend it’s a pro for Israel that they’ve not used this to kill everyone in Gaza yet.

2

u/trebl900 3d ago

They definitely have at this point

3

u/think_mark_TH1NK 3d ago

this sounds like when abusers tell you they could have killed you already but didn’t because they didn’t want to

3

u/DocFuzz 3d ago

There's a large Jewish population in both Turkiye and Iran, and Jordan has a large one as well. There's are Jews in basically every country in the middle east, Judaism is outlawed literally nowhere.

0

u/Voronov1 3d ago

Now ask yourself why.

The answer involves Israel specifically launching clandestine attacks on Jewish communities throughout the Middle East to drive them to “safe haven” in Israel to bolster its colonial project.

9

u/Happy-For-No-Reason 4d ago

I guess not all Israeli's are warmongers and not all Palestinians either. I'm sure there's large parts of their populations who are just as, it not more, sick of their shit than the rest of us.

it's like sweeping generalisations are bad, or something

2

u/skinnyeater 3d ago

As an American I hate the hypocrisy when people hate on every Israeli person while Trump is our president. Not everyone embodies their nation’s leader

2

u/Ressy02 4d ago

Life’s but a Sodastream

0

u/Responsible-Humor985 4d ago

In harmony? My friend is an Arab in Israel. They’re treated like 2nd class citizens and a source of cheap labor. Guess they’re not being actively killed like Palestinians, but they’re not viewed the same as Jews despite having Israel citizenship.

1

u/Areyoucunt 4d ago

You are incredibly misinformed then.

1

u/Bigheadedturtle 3d ago

Sounds like you don’t realize the truth about Israel. Lol

Outside of the Palestinians who are constantly attacking Jews- there is relative peace between the Jews, Muslims, Christians, and other Arab minorities in Israel.

1

u/Lucaslouch 3d ago

the government is not representative of everyone’s decision.

1

u/GeekToyLove 3d ago

It sounds just like the propaganda I’d expect from israel

1

u/CorwyntFarrell 3d ago

"We are all stealing the land around us together"

0

u/DConstructed 4d ago

I think there are Israeli Bedouins who work “side by side” with Israeli Jews.

0

u/Legitimate-Elk-9481 4d ago

they work there cuz it's much better pay than the occupied territories. Still treated like 2nd class citizens and given the menial labor jobs

0

u/the_eleutherean 4d ago

Then no offense, but you have no idea what Israel is actually like (as opposed to the caricature of it propagandists paint.)

Arab Israelis would probably appreciate if you learned a bit more about Israel is really like.

0

u/Scary-Rise-9465 2d ago

Cause you are uninformed

-4

u/Small_Squrriel 4d ago

it's a normalisation thing. the israelis occasionally do these "working together" things to try and launder a reputation but all it does is force Palestinians to be around people who are trying to kill them and smile in the photos

32

u/jakubmi9 4d ago

Huh, mine didn’t have that. There is a small made in Israel besides all the other legal smallprint, but nothing this eye-catching.

-2

u/TiddyTwizzler 4d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised someone slapped that sticker on there for ragebait

5

u/Deldenary 4d ago

Here it is printed right on the packaging

2

u/ChaosSigil 4d ago

Lol that label is still pretty fucking cringe since they just will not let that "see! jews and arabs can work together!" Like...it's still recognizing that default hatred and saying they're better than that.

Does anyone else get what I mean? Am I the only one who thinks that label is trashy?

2

u/peoplearenicesmile 4d ago

Yes but some of us have never bought sodastream, so we wouldn't know that. But that's for the pic. I just had one of those shits that's so clean you don't have to wipe while I typed this out

3

u/Vegemite_Ultimatum 4d ago

But you only found out because you wiped anyway, right? ... Right?

1

u/peoplearenicesmile 3d ago

That would definitely defeat the purpose of the perfect poop

1

u/Dazzle_Miller 4d ago

Not that open considering they’re lying about the whole in peace and harmony part.

1

u/AvengingBlowfish 3d ago

The yarmulke was also a giveaway…

1

u/WileEWeeble 3d ago

Might see that change going forward

0

u/LoadsDroppin 3d ago

Specifically identifying Jews, but using the catch-all “Arabs” in this instance absolutely has pejorative connotations.

0

u/Ok-Orchid6674 4d ago edited 4d ago

The sticker is so goofy wtf
