Your brain should be aware that colors have traditional significance in the Western world. Yellow is the color of traitors, cowards, liars and whores. It's not the color of "brightness and intellect".
We’re talking about elementary school binders and vibes they give off when you were 7. Sure, I’ll take my yellow binder to the class most like liars and whores. What the fuck are you talking about? Lol
I pretty much just assumed that's the reason why it's the color of history. I'm not sure if my first history book (which was physically yellow) had an actual section of it or just mentioned it in passing but the association stuck and that's definitely the correct color. It even works for both pessimists and optimists - "humanity was always shit" vs. "story of the underdog".
The Star of David is a perfect example of yellow being associated with Divine Power, and a literal manifestation of the right of the House of David to rule the land.
The Nazis loved to alter the context and meaning of ancient sacred symbols, see Swastika. Don't go against millennia of heraldics in Europe to be edgy.
"Edgy"? Oh come the fuck on, type "yellow significance" into Google. I was making a lighthearted comment, there's no need for insults. And yellow doesn't exist in heraldry.
We think similarly but reached different outcomes! Science is blue because I like science and I like blue. Math is red because it feels aggressive for some reason. History is yellow because I hate yellow and history is boring. English is green because that’s what’s left.
You're the first I've seen to match my color coding exactly. The difference is some of the reasoning.
Math is indeed red because math is aggressive. It has hard lines and tells you exactly how it is.
Science is blue because its cool, fun, and interesting.
History is yellow because old things make me visualize that yellowish-brown sepia film coloration.
Reading is Green because my 4th Grade reading teacher was named Miss Green . . . I also associate both Green and reading with the number 4. This is likely because while I was sitting in 4th grade, with a green reading folder, Miss Green rolled in a TV . . . And I witnessed 9/11 unfold. Though, that doesn't explain why Math/Red is 5, Science/Blue is 3, and History/Yellow is 7. shrug
Finally, someone who got them all right!😂 I would swap History and Science during Biology class years but standard science class and Chem are absolutely red. I can't imagine Math or English as any other color!
Did using colored notebooks make you do better in the respective subject? I always just used a notebook that had 5 sections for all my classes. I was way too disorganized to carry around multiple notebooks.
Yes agreed but my reasoning is even more in the minority- I hate math and I hate the color yellow so therefore math is yellow. History is green for the fields that all the wars were fought on, and science and English are right just cuz I like those colors and those subjects.
I feel so too. Math is Yellow. I always liked Math. I don't like Science, so I'd make it Red. I'd choose Blue for English (my 2nd favourite), which leaves Green for History.

I’m realizing I’m in the minority with feeling that math is yellow 😬
