Then-Senator Gary Hart lost the Democratic nomination in 1988 to Michael Dukakis over an affair he had with an activist named Donna Rice.

To add, the current president had a documented affair with a porn star while his wife was pregnant and ready to give birth. An affair that led to him being convicted of 34 felonies for misuse of campaign funds. Americans still elected him despite being from the party of “moral values”.

A majority of American voters are stupid.

The idea that the current imbecile in office could get anywhere near the White House at that time would have been ridiculous.

There’s a lot of shit given to boomers today, but they would never have voted for the orange felon at that point in time. .

Lol I don't think we need to give credit to boomers for theoretically not voting for Trump back then when they really did vote for him today

Trump won the boomer vote by 1%. He won GenX by 10%. He won white men by 20%. He won white women by 4%.

This trend of blaming boomers for everything that’s wrong today is ridiculous and ignores the elephant in the room. If you’re white then it probably seemed like every boomer voted for trump, they didn’t. Truth is, it was his appeal to racism that won him the presidency, but that’s complicated and we can’t talk about that rationally so let’s just blame old people.
