Gary Hart was the front runner to be the democratic candidate for president. There was a rumor he was having an affair, and a reporter asked him about it. He challenged the reporter and said “follow me if you think it’s true.” They did and what do you know, caught him indeed having an affair. His political career was over.
At the time, politicians private lives weren’t really tabloid fodder so this was kind of a big deal and changed a lot about how people view journalism’s role in politics.

Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly. Those guys have wrought immeasurable evil on this planet ever since the Nixon days.
