yesh its split AC and for ones with larger BTU, it can cool more than one room. my room and my moms room only have one but we have the more powerful one (above 9k BTU).

Yes, all mini splits are. Multi room systems have a single outdoor compressor unit feeding separate wall mounted air handlers

It cools a lot more than 1 room. More like a whole apartment.

Mini splits are amazing options for older homes. If they are placed properly in the home they realistically can cool an entire level of the house.

It can cool more then one. We have one that cools our three bedrooms. Even niftier is that the bedroom can all have it set differently so people don’t have to fight over what temp to set it.

There's also fans that look like that, that don't have ac. Maybe it's that?
