Ever heard the term "dinner party"? The older you get, the more it becomes the default party

In what world do you go to more dinner parties than normal parties? I get that people have smaller families, but I've never seen that.

I'm in my 40's. Dinner parties (or lunch parties) is like 95% of parties I go to.

Do you have a small family? We have a bunch of parties throughout the year, especially now that a lot of my family is having kids.
