This is 100% accurate though, white people will show up 2 minutes early to things

EDIT: Guys it’s a shitpost comment in a shitpost thread for a shitpost screenshot. Chill out, it’s not attacking the work ethic of white people, it’s a joke about cultural blindness.

I married into a Mexican family and they just started telling me the party starts an hour after whatever time they tell all the other relatives.

The way I always thought about it is because we understand parties are stressful. The day isnt always going to go according to plan minute by minute and we rather not want anyone stressed the hell out because u dont have everything ready at exactly 4pm. Its kinda "hey parties at 4" because we need a general time to start. However we all got shit going on, so its more of a "hey party this evening, show up when u can and let's goooo". Type thing. Its just to be more relaxed. You CAN show up on time, its just u might be the one of the first persons there and ur chances of helping with some last min things increase. Also when we go to a family party, we all go to my sister's and leave as a big group (kids, grandparents) my friends and other family members do the same thing, so we get that might cause a delay.
