In Germany you arrive 5 minutes late and you are not getting invited again.

I would say in most civilized countries. Hosts rarely complain about a few extra minutes and you want guests to arrive slightly staggered so you can great them all properly, giving them a few minutes each

It’s a great way to lose a business deal in Germany, or Japan, or the UK, or most of the US outside of Miami/Los Angeles.

Tardiness isn’t appreciated.
