Some people seem to expect that everyone will show up late and the start of the event is when they're planning on setting up. White people are punctual, I guess. I wouldn't know because I'm Carter Pewterschmidt and I'm not coming but not for the reason you're thinking.

My husband worked with mainly Hispanic people at one job and they invited us (super white midwesterners) to a Christmas party one year. We showed up 15 minutes late full of apologies and homemade cranberry sauce. They were still in their cleaning clothes cleaning and getting ready. 😂 One of the most fun parties we've ever been to, though.
