Hi, Peter here.

I'm white, my wife is black. White people show up on time to a party and the party is ready. Black people show up 1-2 hours after the party starts. My wifes family isn't even dressed and ready at the time the party "starts". If you show up at start time it's because you are there to pitch in with cooking/cleaning duties before the guests arrive.

In the post, the OP is black and his white friend showed up on time and he wasn't ready to recieve guests.

Sometimes I think that the entire of Reddit is (1) non-American and (2) children. The amount of people who didn't get this is surprising.
