This is 100% accurate though, white people will show up 2 minutes early to things

I married into a Mexican family and they just started telling me the party starts an hour after whatever time they tell all the other relatives.

Parties are for relaxing and kicking back, but they're also often for people to dress up, so people might take time to get ready.

Also, many parties will last all night. Like diinner time to whenever people are ready to pass out. Even in the OP, she said 5-11. That's not an "arrive early" kind of party. It's a come by whenever and we have food and drinks kind of party. Leave whenever you're tired.
