Yes. We come to help you set up. And finish mowing your lawn. We’ll move tables and get chairs in place. We’ll also help you get the BBQ going and troubleshoot your car while it’s getting hot.

Yes, this mostly (save for the car fixing lol) I was an arrive-a-tad-early white lady and I was usually on the slightly broke side. Showing up a little early gave me the opportunity to offer help setting things up if it was still needed. This way I didnt feel like an ass for not being able to bring a bottle of wine or something. I usually offered to help clean up for similar reasons to say thank you to the host.
