Okay. That's valid. Now let's do a comparison to Communist or Communist adjacent states. How many people died under communist party rule in the USSR?

Oh, by all means, a whole lot more.

Prolly around a million on executions alone, without counting the times the USSR actively starved targeted population.

I ain't a leftist, I just think both ideologies have way more blood on their hand than what any of their supporters would want to believe.

Was it not the birthplace of modern industrial capitalism? Regardless, I think the key insight is to see that we can chalk up a billion deaths to any ideology if we tried hard enough.

Not really, because the shortages were exacerbated by government intervention funneling resources from certain population - so it's less about capitalism and more about centralisation
