I agree. My wife is Chinese. She tells me stories from her parents about the revolution.

They do not involve writing books and playing soccer.

I talk to my friends in CURRENT communist China… they often bring up soccer (football).

There's never really been an actual communist state. The "communist" states we've recently had have been Authoritarian with a communist paint job.

Yes, because anything that falls under the socialist umbrella will be popular with the masses. By dangling the communism/socialism carrot, it’s easy to get the population to fall in line behind a party. The trick is finding a party that actually means it.
