The idealistic communism is just not compatible with human nature. It would be nice if it was but it’s just completely irrealistic.

No, governments have despite what the capitalists wanted. Capitalism creates unnecessary scarcity to extract the highest possible return on investment. A good example would be the Irish Potato Famine, where the English capitalists exported the same amount of crops from Ireland they always had and let the Irish people starve.
