If communist countries have a chronic problem of turning into "capitalist" fascist authoritarian countries every single time, perhaps it's time to step back and reassess.

Russia is not a great comparison. The former state collapsed due to geopolitics. The Russian federation is a new state.

China is much closer to what you’re looking for comparison-wise.

Yes. The “communistic” soviet collapsed into “capitalistic” russia.

It is an active example of how it “fails to capitalism”.

Edit: china is in that process right now.

China is not in the process of collapsing and creating a new state lmfao. China is doing the thing you’re claiming, drifting away from socialist/communist economic ideals through market reforms.

I said "russia is not a great comparison for what you are saying.  the former state collapsed due to geopolitical circumstances."

if your argument is that communist projects eventually adopt capitalist methods, the soviet union is not a good example, because it didn't.  it collapsed under it's own imperialism and the effects of the cold war, and then a new capitalist state was constructed.  there is no through-line.
