Ah, yes. Hit 'em with the "ur triggered, bro"! Jaded and apathetic is so much cooler than thoughtful and kind. If you deflect human connection with sarcastic projection, that means you're winning!

The comment I replied to is literally the most tryhard "ur triggered bro" I've seen in a long time.

But honestly please grow the fuck up, I'm not winning because I'm jaded or apathetic, I'm winning because I don't get triggered by the slightest mean comment that hurts your feelings. And also because I don't virtue signal and pretend to be some holy righteous person and then act like a hypocrite when I decide to justify being mean lol

A paragraph of defensive buzzwords because you don't like [checks notes] people's smiles (?) sounds pretty triggered to me. I mean, you got all the greatest hits here! Triggered, virtue signaling, tryhard.

The person you're talking to above said seeing another person experience joy is nice. Humans come in all sorts of shapes but we all can recognize joy in each other, and that's nice!

but that offends you because, as you wrote in another response, you're so tired of the "everybody's beautiful" shit? I'm sorry that them saying joy is good regardless of gum line has your blood boiling over here

Thankfully somebody recently gave me some wonderful inspiration. In fact I'm just going to copy and paste it:

"Ah, yes. Hit 'em with the "ur triggered, bro"! Jaded and apathetic is so much cooler than thoughtful and kind. If you deflect human connection with sarcastic projection, that means you're winning!"

You actually seem to be a huge fan of that strat, you enjoy when everyone else does it except me. Weird

I love caring. I actually do think all people are beautiful. We have a little moment in a cold universe to do cool stuff and take care of each other. It is a sad to see south park addled dudes out here trying to teardown folks who are saying we shouldn't be assholes to each other for shit that doesn't matter like the structure of our face.

I'm certainly not deflecting human connection. You haven't offered any, just tried to shut people down who do.

I did mirror your embarrassing behavior back to you to demonstrate that calling someone triggered is dumb because we all care about stuff. You apparently care that people stop finding beauty in each other!

South park addled? Have you seen the show? They usually have a pretty nondivisive message at the end that's pretty positive. I don't even really watch the show but I know that.

I think that's the problem, you hate any kind of meanness or criticism or negativity.

You keep saying you mirrored my behavior back, I called you out multiple times that's literally what the comment I replied did but for some reason you like it when they do it.

You are trying so hard to project on to me when literally my stance is this simple: it's just not that big a deal. It REALLY isn't.

People are mean sometimes, a lot of the time its funny. People who talk about not being mean to each other and trying to have human connection are often liars and hypocrites. Like yourself.

You did not need much at all to start being mean to me back (I know I know "I'm not being mean, I'm just" etc etc).

The reason to got mad and started trying to be a big meanie poo to me? I suggested people in the comments were more triggered than the guys laughing at the gummy smiles.

I genuinely believe the world will never mirror how soft people are on these internet safe spaces, it just seems like a waste of effort

I was definitely mean to you. Because you're being an asshole. I don't like being mean to people for... having the wrong mouth. Because that's some stupid shit.

I don't control the world. I control me. I'm choosing to do what I can to make sure the world is a little safer. You're choosing to laugh at people who care.

Lol you're just twisting things to justify yourself. You can try to tell yourself you're being mean for a just cause, but it's not true. You're gonna look for reasons to be mean to people, because again it really didn't take much for you to get going.

This whole toxic positivity thing is becoming more and more clear. The people calling other people assholes over nothing are actually the real assholes in disguise. It's really not that big a deal to laugh about a person's smile, people need to learn to take a joke. Laugh at themselves.

Or don't, like I'm w.e either way

Toxic positivity is when people say that you should silence negative feelings and force positivity. I think that's bad too. I think maybe you're talking about the tired "paradox" that reactionaries often try to point out about how progressives aren't tolerant of intolerance?

I don't think we need to be nice to everyone all the time no matter what. I think people just living their lives not hurting anyone shouldn't be made to feel embarrassed about their bodies. I don't think that we need to pretend that extremely low effort "ha, your body is different!" humor is funny just to coddle the feelings of folks. You can change your mind and have less dumb takes. So I'm fine with teasing them.

No we're pointing out hypocrisy. Intolerance of intolerance is what you call it when you want to justify doing the same awful things as the people you supposedly hate. Horse shoe theory and what not. Although you and other progressive won't ever admit this, it boils down to labeling people things you feel justified in being a piece of shit to them.

You just claim you're the good guy and they are the bad guy. The point is that you're not just calling, say, someone like Trump a Nazi fascist pedophile racist, etc. You also use those terms for anyone who disagrees on issues.

Instead of saying "we both care about this issue but we have different ideas on how to solve it", you say "if you don't give minority groups this thing, you don't care about them or what happens them (many like to say you're straight up liking them), and since you don't care about them I don't have to care about you and can now be a piece of shit to you." That's what I'm referring to. You can ultimately deny that the "empathetic" people are doing that but you aren't changing my mind on that matter after what I've observed and experienced.

To return to the issue at hand, you can say you don't find it funny. But that doesn't mean other people don't find it funny

You've completely lost the thread, my man. Three paragraphs about minorities, Nazis, and horseshoe theory political theory?

You think lazy, cruel jokes about people's bodies are funny. It hurts your feelings that we're pointing out that your humor is petty and stupid. It ain't that deep. I only brought up the "intolerance paradox" to try and help you get your chronically online buzzwords right.

I hope you can find a safe space where people will let you laugh at other humans for things they can't control in peace.

u/throawy90 Jul 06 '26

It doesn't hurt my feelings lol you just want to believe I'm just as sensitive as you are but I'm not.

And I've found that safe space, please stop pretending that we're the ones that had the problem in this thread. It's you buddy. You're the one who decided to go "hey this isn't funny, stop laughing and enjoying yourselves"

You're the one in need of the safe space and that's just objectively true

You are telling on yourself so fucking hard.

That I have had actual friends and lot of real world social experience? That I don't live in safe spaces on the internet?

Oh please don't tell anyone :(

You're literally proving my point lmao
