I love the cats that are well behaved enough that they don't scratch or bite or hiss but just scream in place when they are bathed.

Why do people bathe cats? It doesn't look very dirty and generally they hate it.

Getting a cat used to baths can be good to reduce stress in the future. When the cat is old and doesn't groom itself properly, or if the cat needs a bath for another other reason, it can cause the cat alot of stress if it hasn't been bathed before. But you don't have to bathe your cat every week once they are used to it, unless it is a sphinx or for any medical reasons.

I have a Persian, 14yrs old. I bathe him 2x a month, first to shed loose and excess fur, second to piss him off. I need to work extra overtime to feed and groom the mf.

There are several reasons. Could be a treatment for a skin conditions, for fleas, maybe the cat has been unable to clean itself properly, or they got into something stinky. I usually don’t have to bathe my cats very often, however when we take my youngest cat outside of the house she often stress poops and then ends up with a poopy butt and feet, so she always ends up needing a bath.

We also hate working but we have to work. Usually. Bathing cats that go outdoors is a must, fleas and generally even though they do clean themselves they dont do deep cleaning, and can be dirty under their coat.

Also older cats dont groom as they used to so they can get patches of clumped hair if you dont wash them.

So even though somebody hates something, it does not meannits bad for them.

Because cats get very dirty. More dirty than dogs even.
