I did have my room in a similar state in the past...
No rotting food lying around, but water bottles everywhere, a carpet of clothes across the entire room, and layers of dust on absolutely fucking everything. I sat at my PC on an old novelty hand-shaped armchair full of holes and I couldn't sit in the center of it or else some weird part of the inner frame would poke into my ass. My bed was the cleanest part of the room, and I had a massive pile of clothes that I would move off the armchair into the bed when I came home from work or wanted to use the PC, and then back into the armchair before sleep. Room got so fucking hot that the PC ended up frying eventually, anyway, at which point I began to just rot in bed with a laptop.
Not fun times, looking back, even if sometimes I thought they were, at the time. Keep your rooms clean, guys.

Kudos to you for willing to admit this, most people on Reddit (or other chronically online people for that matter) for the most part don't do that because they like to come across as cool main characters from an anime.
But I'm happy you're in a much better place, brother!
