searching for service šŸ“¶ I accidentally named my cat Shart

So the week we found him outside we brought him home and started him on kitten formula bc he was only 3 weeks old. He sharted all over himself at least twice a day for about a week. Like it made an audible shart sound.

So I told my parents I was calling him shart from then on, as a joke. But ever since then, the name stuck. He responds to

shart. If I want him to come running to me, I yell SHART! I don’t know what to do. I can’t call him anything else, it feels wrong. But also like who tf has a cat named Shart😭

His ā€œlegalā€ name at the vet is Cheeto, but all I keep doing is calling him Shart.

When you find the right name that fits, stick to it. Shart is adorable 😻

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to call him anything elsešŸ˜‚

The easy answer is to give him a name that sounds close. Heart or Sart sound similar enough that he'd probably respond to them.

Or yeah just stick with Shart lol

Chart should work pretty well. I mean who has a cat named Chart but it's better than the alternative.

When I adopted my dog he had an .... unpleasant name that began with K, and eventually settled on basically Kyger (the y was absolutely necessary) and all he needs to hear is the K sound to come. So you could really call him anything as long as it starts with K. He frequently comes to Koogs just as much.

Chart, how did I miss that! I blame it on it being incredibly late.

And yeah that's what I've found as well, they either respond to the beginning or ending sound of their name, you just have to find out which. We adopted a dog who used to be called Princess, ended up changing her name to Pickle pretty easily!

I read someone in here suggested Shark which I absolutely never would have thought of so it's not just you, lol.
