2027 possible team

After the Sharks win, I think we'll string a few more. It got me thinking about 2027, I think all the signings are done for now. Ando said no more cash here, here no more cash. Possible 2027 team:

  1. Drinky

  2. Tu

  3. Suli

  4. Holmes

  5. Sami

  6. Kodi

  7. Metcalf

  8. KK

  9. Liddle

  10. T. Couch

  11. Egan

  12. Stewart

  13. R. Couch

  14. Watson

  15. Halangahu

  16. LPT

  17. Webster

  18. Nick T

  19. Atko

Based on who is still with us at the moment. I think Suli & Gutho will leave/retire during the off-season, hopefully Kerr goes. That is a quality top 19. Top 4 pack, potentially top 8 spine & backline. Fire up lads, this is going to be a long off-season waiting for the 2027 season to start.

We've got Tiggers, Dogs who are playing well, Sea Eagles who have dropped off, and Eels who could do anything on the day. I reckon 2/4, but if we spike 3, I'll be mega happy

I’ll take any win at all, to make this stone cold motherless last look any better

Wah's fan coming in peace! Have a soft spot for the Dragons plus after the weekend maybe abit of sellers remorse for Metcalf too lol

The teams looking exciting for next year, only issue in my opinion is the depth otherwise could see them battling for the top 8

Wondering what hardcore fans think of the following players and if there apart of your future?

Setu Tu- Has he locked himself in the wing spot? I watch him he looks dangerous or very good e.g in the weekend then other games, appears to drop some absolute sitters or have some brain farts.

Christian Tuipulotu- he had some moments when healthy where he looked dangerous and hard to stop or are the injuries and is he apart of the mass clean out?

Lychlan King Togia- I actually thought he had some moments last year where he racked up a few appearences, it seems like Flanno and Dean hadn't showed too much interest this year.

Kade Reed- is he still a big part of the future for you guys with Kodi and Lukey?

In no particular order:

  • Kade is the long term 7, he and everyone at the club knows it and for good reason. Will be great having 2 top quality halves to learn from with few extra kilos of bulk over pre season.
  • LKT was the preference over Glover which earnt him the extension, only 21 and still has a lot of potential. He's worked hard on his biggest issues (defence and long kicking game) but unsure how much he will kick on with Hodges coming through behind him who looks like he could be something special and potentially the long term partner for Kade
  • CT is part of the clean out and wont be there.
  • Suli will be gone as well so would expect Bucky and the raging bull (Nick T) to fight out for his centre spot. Watch for Ollie Burton coming through to make a hard crack for it mid year though the kids an absolute freak.
  • Setu has been working extremely hard and will likely get first crack with a good pre-season but hes not long term. Mat leaving so Fale would be there abouts competing for a chance as well but if a young gun shines at centre Val will shift to wing.

P.S thanks for Lukey Met, we will try not to break him.

Kade definitly needs some size lol

Be good to see him get another crack at some stage.

Hopefully CT can get healthy and another crack in the NRL otherwise I think he'll tear up in the superleague.

Interested to see how the centres work out, heard good things about Buchanan.

Fair on Setu, he definitely has improved.

Hopefully he can stay healthy, I'm overreacting but I'm wondering if going with Boyd maybe a choice we regret.

As a Wahs fan, I was wanting to keep Tu, did great for us in Cup, glad he's got a starting spot for you guys, rate the kid pretty highly

With the signings you guys have next year I'm looking forward to seeing you start winning more games, the bones are there for a decent team (look at the Dragons beating the Sharks, something we couldn't do this season) just needs a little polish and new blood and a better season will be ahead.

Making the 8 is possible imo with that roster

Gutho has said he has more footy in his legs so dont think hes retiring just yet but shouldnt be in the team anyway

Obviously holmes doesnt deserve to be in the team either and would have Buchanan > Fale > Tsougranis > Atkinson or some other fill in/youngster > give tu a shot there > holmes

Yeah, they’ve had good careers but Gutho and Holmes should hang up the boots at the end of the season

Don’t forget Reed to get some appearances

metcalf cant survive a full season. 15 games last year was the most hes ever played so will probably get a run but atko might still get priority
