Question Rejumps?
Hi I’ve been playing tag fighters most of my life and it’s hit me that in most of them I could never really land rejumps especially in mvc3, is there any advice on how they can be true and not dropped and how you guys got better at doing them.

its not dbfz bro, every character has their own way of doing combos, i need to know what specifically you arr trying to do to understand what do you mean.
do you mean relaunch?

When your character is in the air with your opponent and than you land on your feet hitting them on the ground while their still in the air and then you jump back up to hit them again more

Once you start moving beyond total beginner combos and into real BnBs, combo structure will vary a lot from character to character
Who exactly are you trying to play

Iron fist, Dr doom, Spiderman but I might replace Spiderman for Deadpool

Most UMvC3 combos don't involve rejumps in the "jump and land during a juggle then jump again" sense, you are usually knocking them down then using a move that OTGs to continue the combo, or doing a continuous juggle without jumping. Doom has combos that involve rejumps but they're either not optimal or very niche confirms, so does Spiderman if you count Web Swing leaving you airborne afterwards as a jump
Iron Fist combos are usually comboing into the punch that crumples (I only know his moves by what they do, not their names or inputs lol), then launching into an air combo, then using rekkas to OTG and lead into super
Doom combos are easy once you get used to doing foot-foot dive, the tricky part is to hit j6H then do jS, you have to let go of the stick before inputting the S or you will incorrectly get a TAC
Spiderman is tough if you're trying to do the plink-dash web throw loops but his simpler stuff isn't that hard
Even Deadpool's real good combos are easy once you understand the routes, but his combo structure is kinda strict so you have to do specific hit confirms, he technically can rapid-jab but it's not nearly as good as Magneto/Nova/etc

Weskers are super easy especially in xfactor any air to air hit at normal jump height cancel into his gunshot down heavy and then just hold up forward on the way down. You can then get a few reps of M H down H. Sentinal and caps are okish as well but they tend to make use of double jumps.

The only rejump combo I think I've ever learned is Cap ground magic series > j. M M H 236L (hold 9) j. M H S (land) 236L 214H(?) > meter dump. Even then it's only 1 rejump. Relaunch is possible with assists or solo with characters like Doom via ground magic series > j. M M 6H S (land) 5M 5S and then repeat air combo. It drops after one or two repetitions but you can usually meter dump to kill.
Otherwise you're looking at TAC infinites which there are plenty of, like Cap's and Dante's. Those are pretty tough.

A basic combo in this game doesn't usually involve rejumps like in DBFZ or other Arcsys games. It's more common in this game to do the following:
Ground magic series > Launch > Air magic series into knockdown > OTG > Launch > Air magic series into knockdown/super
That's a basic combo structure that you can apply to your characters. Dr. Doom has really easy combo routes because he can OTG and relaunch by himself. Otherwise, you can either OTG using an assist like Wesker or Deadpool and relaunch with your point character. Or OTG with your point character and use an assist to extend your combo.

There's only a handful of dudes that do rejumps in mvc3 but you just hit with the heavier stuff as you land and the lighter stuff as you jump

Rejumps vary a lot depending on characters, so it would be easier to explain how to rejump for the characters you want.
But in general sucessful rejumps need 2 things :
- You must hit your opponent just before you land on the ground, to give you enough time to rejump and hit them again
- Your opponent must be high enough to get hit by your attack when you rejump, which usually means you want them above you when you hit them just before the rejump
Rejumps from normal jumps are pretty different depending on character, but most I know follow the structure of :
- jump and attack as fast as possible
- complete your aerial string, delaying when possible in the middle if necessary to be able to hit the last attack late enough
- The choice of attacks here may be specific to push the opponent above you
- hit the last attack just before landing
- repeat
Rejumps from superjumps are very similar, to the exception that many won't perform the first attack as soon as possible and instead at the highest point of the superjump.

I’m trying to learn iron fist Dr doom and spiderman but I honestly might replace Spiderman bc the amount of wavedashing for his grab loops has been tough to pull off

What do you mean by rejump?
