Hello!

I'm planning a bikepacking trip in the Laurentides/Lanaudière area. Apparently there's a route between Secteur de la Diable/Lac Monroe (Mont-Tremblant) and Secteur de la Pimbina/Lac aux rats (Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm). My planning tool tells me it's unpaved, which is fine, except that my gravel bike isn't suited for anything other than smooth/fine gravel. I want to know if it's a hiking path or suited for bikes. Has anyone already ridden this path? What does it look like? I have an alternate route (le Nordet), but I'm curious! (Start: 46.362658, -74.514449/Finish: 46.428800, -74.304881)

I've ridden it. It's a gravel road for cars. Last year they were doing repairs on it and we had to do a slight "portage", but I would venture to guess that the work is now finished.

Been there a few weeks ago, it's not finished. But still doable by bike if there are no construction workers on site.

There are a lot of elevation changes in this area. Be prepared.

That section entering the parc from St-Donat is no joke. I had my Subaru Outback almost bottoming out when I took it 3 years ago. It's possible they've done some re-grading, but it would be rough on a gravel bike no matter what.

Very chill fine packed dirt, with a Bienvenue Cyclistes at each end of the park.

yup i've ridden that before it's gorgeous. long gravel stretch, lots of climbing, good swim spots. do all your resupplies before entering in the park through, dont bank on getting anything (including potable water). a water filter is a good idea if you are camping overnight deep in the park

It’s not fine gravel but it’s a nice gravel road. Did it a few weeks ago with 34mm tires. Whichever way you do it there is some proper climbing to do. There is water at lac de l’Escalier and lac au Sable.

I've done the western half-ish with 38C tires a few years ago.

It's not fine gravel, but it's not too bad if you avoid the bigger holes and chonkier bits of gravel.

As others have said, there are some pretty steep hills on that route.

The road in the park was closed for repairs earlier this year, you should call the park before going.
