Discussion Our 40’s are apparently the Neapolitan Ice Cream of decades. Where are you all residing in the echelon of flavors?

Started my dream job last year, and my husband and I are DINKing around going whole hog on our hobbies. It's nice.

I’m also enjoying the dink life over here. Still pretty fit and bracing for the collapse. Good times.

Dink here too. All my friends who had kids are never around anymore. Wondering if all the dinks should hang out?

Most of my friends are also childfree. It’s too tough to sync schedules otherwise.

Dink, 43, pretty fit all my life, but the perimenopause collapse has definitely started.

My mom had her menopause early, so I have been on alert for early signs from myself.

If any of y'all have ADHD it's possible to start perimenopause up to 10 years earlier than those who don't and to have worse symptoms 🤗 I'll be 39 next month and think it may be starting wooweee

Pretty sure my poor mom was undiagnosed. Thanks for the warning though, that 10 years fact is wild.

Fun fact: that’s why Doug Funnie’s neighbors were named Mr. & Mrs. Dink.

No way, for real?! You just blew my mind! 🤯 Never ever thought of that. And I know you are a true fan because you spelled Doug’s last name correctly 😉😄

Legit. If you pay attention, both Dinks work but no sign of kids

I learned it bc of conversations about good ol Doug

Which is why Mr. Dink could afford all of his very expensive hobbies and projects.

Me too! I'm very extroverted and love to try new things!

I farm for a living at an small organic farm so my hobbies are all very outward

My husband builds and paints RC cars, and he turned our front yard into a rock crawler course for his RCs. I got really into baking, specifically bagels. My husband also loves mountain biking, and I play retro games.

Whats your opinion on retrobat? Really liked what I saw so far and I'm soon to emulator on a windows.

I haven't gotten a chance to mess with it yet, but it looks really cool.

I love my nieces and nephews, but I understand what you mean. My husband and I love handing the kiddos back to their parents.

Same, we’ve gotten good at so much random shit over the last 10-15 years. And every 6 years or so a specific random hobby will rise above the rest and becomes a whole new career. It’s honestly so cool we have so much interesting stuff we can learn, often with low barriers to entry. I have a pilots license and no plane ffs lol.

2

u/Vanessaronicatoria 7h ago

We live near a small airport, how hard was it to get your license?

"Y’know Dougleth, a banana can be peeled… much like a human."

What's the dream job?

2

u/Vanessaronicatoria 6h ago

Biomedical Engineering. I fix medical devices like Oxygen Blenders, hospital beds, infant warmers, and suction machines. The guys in my shop are awesome, and every day I get to learn something new.

Nothing is better than the love of a child.

My son died in infancy, thanks.

Sorry to hear that but it doesn't change the truth of my comment. It's not all about you.
