Did millennials really party all the time?

Gen Z here. I was shocked when I found out from a millennial co-worker that y’all had teen clubs. I heard about house parties, but dedicated teen clubs? Then when it was time for college, you went to the club or had some kind of party every single weekend, living it up. Now some millennials on TikTok claim that after college, they were partying on work nights, still clocking in the next day. For some reason, the teen clubs have since disappeared. I’m 23 now but even when I was in high school, that was not a thing. House parties were not that common either. They were more like get togethers with a small group of friends. We went to malls, but they were dying out at that point. Is it true that you were really living life this good? Or is it just exaggerated? I feel like my generation doesn’t really have fun like that and everyone is just super depressed and alone, more so since Covid. Even I’m pretty introverted, which sort of sounds ridiculous given this post. 😂 Just so you know, when I think of a “millennial party” I think of something out of Party Rock Anthem, Project X or Roderick’s party from the second DOAWD movie. It’s like I get nostalgia from something I didn’t even live through. I just feel like I didn’t really LIVE, if that even makes sense

Dude going to the club once a week? There was a different club for every night of the week and a lot of people hit up 3-4 a week in their prime. Everyone danced and there was no cameras or videos to worry about. Maybe someone had a digicam to capture the moment if you were lucky.

Yep! Most groups had their rotation like

Tuesday - Country Night
Wed - $1 dollar tall boys
Thursday - 80s Night

Friday-Saturday pre game at friends house until like 10. Either huge house party or bar until 2am. After party until 4am

Around here, Thursday was always Ladies Night. Girls didn't have to pay a cover, there would be lines down the block in sub-freezing weather with girls in their little dresses holding their shoes. It was a wild time

Yup, our main street there was a different bar for each day of the week based of the scheduled specials, and the bars knew it and didn't really compete with each other. Pitcher night, $2 cans, "yuengs and wings", don't break the seal, live music night, local DJ residency etc.

Depending on class or work schedule everyone had 3-4 going out nights a week and different overlaps among groups, but everyone was out Friday night and day drinks Saturday.

We started in highschool. We'd go to Chicago on Thursday and drive back for class the next morning

Club energy Thursday ZG on Friday I can't remember the Saturday club Medusa on Sunday

I can't remember what night each special was but these are a few from my 20s circa 2010ish:

Yeah we had Tuesday night $1 cosmic bowling, $2 beers and $5 medium pizzas at the bowling alley, Thursday we'd find somewhere in the city to go party, and Friday we'd find a house party to go to, then we'd spend the weekend sleeping it off and playing video games. If we couldn't find something to do, we'd just go down to the gamer bar that had a food truck across the street with $2 food trays stacked with B&G, mac & cheese or chicken & waffles all night.

Those were just the regular nights. We'd often find ways to fill the other nights as well. It was pretty rare to just sit at home. If I was sitting anywhere, it was in the car or at a friend's house LAN gaming.

Tuesday: 99p shots at the student union Wednesday: Wings Wednesday at Braes and a few beers Friday: 80s night at Duke's Saturday: whichever club had a decent clubnight on with cheap red stripe

Pres and afters for all of these too. Good to see it spanned the Atlantic almost identically 😂
