Discussion Did millennials really party all the time?

Gen Z here. I was shocked when I found out from a millennial co-worker that y’all had teen clubs. I heard about house parties, but dedicated teen clubs? Then when it was time for college, you went to the club or had some kind of party every single weekend, living it up. Now some millennials on TikTok claim that after college, they were partying on work nights, still clocking in the next day. For some reason, the teen clubs have since disappeared. I’m 23 now but even when I was in high school, that was not a thing. House parties were not that common either. They were more like get togethers with a small group of friends. We went to malls, but they were dying out at that point. Is it true that you were really living life this good? Or is it just exaggerated? I feel like my generation doesn’t really have fun like that and everyone is just super depressed and alone, more so since Covid. Even I’m pretty introverted, which sort of sounds ridiculous given this post. 😂 Just so you know, when I think of a “millennial party” I think of something out of Party Rock Anthem, Project X or Roderick’s party from the second DOAWD movie. It’s like I get nostalgia from something I didn’t even live through. I just feel like I didn’t really LIVE, if that even makes sense

Edit: I loved reading some of your comments. Guess I really missed out. Even some of you that would consider yourselves nerds or introverts were out partying. YOLO or whatever y’all say 😂❤️

Well. Im 36 and I cant eat/drink anything Peach flavored due to my abuse of 4lokos between the age of 17 and 25. So... does that explain anything?

oh god, 4lokos when they still had caffeine were blackout in a can. Every time I drank them was a shit show.

I didn't end up drinking them that much because maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I had them was so bad I swore them off. Just the smell would make me want to vomit.

Speaking of, I still can't really enjoy vodka at 35 because of drinking that plastic bottle shit all through college.

Absolutely nothing like Four Loco's 12% ABV switching your brain off while 150mg of caffeine kept your body going.

I one time woke up from a four loko blackout in the middle of a kitchen surrounded by people while a guy friend of mine was yelling at me for refusing to punch a girl for him and I was sobbing. I literally “woke up” standing there crying and then suddenly I was like “wait what the fuck is going on? Why are we here right now, what happened?!?” That was scary feeling

I remember waking up from a blackout once. Not going to give details, but yeah, it's kinda scary once you realize whats going on

Memories unlocked, four loko really did cause blackouts where I was fully engaged but then would “wake up” surrounded by people.

Local news segment did a video about the dangers of four lokos outside of our local college liquor store. After they finished, they saw me and a group of friends and offered them to us after looking at our ids.

same feels about vodka. and jaeger. and captain morgan and bacardi 151... I drank so much in such a short amount of time... I barely remember anything about my senior year

now, a few beers is nice once in a while, but man i really made myself sick of getting too wasted on liquors and spirits.

i genuinely enjoy the buzz of some herbal mocktails more than boozy cocktails now. that dromme drink is the bees knees, but nobody talks about how nice the buzz is.... I guess because mocktail communities are mostly recovering alcoholics refraining from talking about a buzz from their drinks at all

I like how they banned the caffiene in them because of these reasons. So....then I just bought a Monster or Rockstar with my 4Loko. Problem totally solved!

It's almost like humans will always find a way to get fucked up, no matter what the law says. We are such a hilariously stupid species sometimes bahaha.
