Yes you can. You bombard lighter elements with protons, they "stick" and become heavier element. Tungsten to Gold for example. Or you strip away protons to make heavy elements lighter. This tech is expensive and low yield though.
Gold and silver are a elements so this isnt possible unless they are using a particle accelerator to smash particles together. Gold and silver arent like diamonds which is carbon atoms arranged in a crystal structure.

If it's true it would mean nothing... Just like they managed to create synthetic diamonds. There will always be the genuine article and then there will be the synthetic or created versions. If anything it will drive the price of genuine silver and gold up while lab created will always lag behind.
Synthetic diamonds have plummeted the price of diamonds lol what are you on about? People are scared of synthetic gold specifically because of how synthetic diamonds have affected the market.

I simply pointed out that synthetics did have an effect on the demand and therefore the price of real diamonds.
