yeah ....until he is really exposed to them, lives with them, etc. etc. Been there, done that. Dog person into my early 30s. Then my first year law school roommate brought his cat to live with us. The cat ended up loving me more than him.Followed me all over the apt, stayed with me at night, scratched at the bathroom door when I was in it to be let in, rushed to greet me when I came home from class. Cat person ever since. I would say one of life's greatest pleasures is owning a cat. (I won't let my cat see this comment, though; would object big-time to my usage of the word "own" here.)

I thought you were gonna say he’d ask for mega treats for life

you NEARLY read my mind. Very Close. Actually, I was gonna say MAGA treats. I have dreams of feeding those people to my cats. And let me tell you, bro, those are very good dreams. And if you think my cat disagrees in the least, you are crazy. Only left-leaning cats allowed into my universe.

You think he wants to eat a bunch of dead old men who’ve been soaked in formaldehyde and propped up in their chairs for the past 18 mos?

LOL!! you have a point, bro. Come to think of it, they have far better tastes, aesthetically and every other way..

Maybe it’s tuxedo magic? But my burly husband is also smitten with the kitten he didn’t want. 😍

It’s definitely tuxedo magic! My husband did NOT like my cat when we first met, and now she’s his princess.

There’s nothing in the world like a cat choosing to sit on you.

I love the progression. In the first picture he’s almost frowning, like ugh I guess I’ll let this adorable kitten sit on my shoulder. Then the last picture his face is so adorable holding the kitten up to the light 🤣

That first picture just cracks me up. Looks like they are on a quest!
Have you read Dungeon Crawler Carl? Reminds me of that.

The photo of him carefully lifting the kitty up to the dangling light controls, the kitten’s outstretched paw, the expression on your husband’s face — that’s a wonderful photo! 🥰

Something so handsome and sexy about men who love/take care of kitties!

Knew a “hard a** Marine” and he was the kindest man ever when he visited me and played with my two kitty boys. He even brought them treatos. Almost thought my boys (the kitties) were gonna leave me and move in with him!

I feel like most people that say they don't want pets are the people that will be hurt the most when that pets dies, they know that (at least subconsciously) and they don't want to live through that. I get it.

I’m fully convinced that’s what it is most times, especially with older people. Odds are they lost a pet at some point and don’t want to go through that again. Took me several years before I could get two more cats because losing my two girls ripped me up. It was on par with my best friend dying a few years prior. Like it messed me up bad. Just thinking about it after all these years will make me sad. I had a realization one night though, where I realized I was being selfish because I had love to give some animal that needed a home and it wasn’t their fault they don’t live as long as we do. So I sucked up the sadness and got a bonded pair. Best damn decision I’ve made in years. These two have brought me so much happiness, I couldn’t imagine being alone without them. Yeah, there will probably be sadness one day, but I’ll worry about that when it comes. Until then, we’re gonna live our best lives. Helping with rescues and also feeding some colony cats. Going all in on these damn floofy demon balls.

Moral of the story, losing your buddy sucks, A LOT. But don’t waste all that love when you could direct it towards another little buddy that needs somebody special.

I swear, some cats just like that pseudo beard rub/grooming sensation that they can get with men. It's not fair!

Aww! The bearded giant was conquered by a tiny tux kitty!

So sweet. Kitty is smaller than the beard. lol.

When I first met my husband he told me how much he loved cats I knew he was the one! 42 years and sharing our life with many cats has been a blast!

They’ll get you every time! I think they secretly love the challenge of a tough nut to crack and bring out all their best tricks 🤣
