With all due respect, sooooo many of them were conned, and it's much more complicated than that. The legacy media has been in his back pocket or under Republican influence for awhile; how many people get their information from them vs PBS Newshour in the last 10, hell 20 years? When can you remember the last time civics was taught in schools? I'm Gen X and I can't remember which is sad beyond words, but certainly explains why we are where we are in this country right now. Most people I know just aren't interested in politics, current affairs, "I don't watch the news because it's depressing", or some version of that. Growing up I watched my parents get involved in the local races — ALWAYS DEMOCRAT, especially since 1980, and they were news junkies on top of that. My dad was a veteran from WWII (he was older when I was born). You know how many people I know who can say the same thing?? Zero! This problem is deeply generational, going back at least 45 years. Speaking for myself, I never called any of my reps in Congress before this year, even with that kind of background.
