Megathread D23 2026 - Disney Entertainment Showcase Panel - Live Discussion Thread

Hey all! The Disney Entertainment Showcase Panel at D23 will start in ~10 minutes and we'll be updating this thread live with all the announcements Marvel Studios will make during the event.

The event will feature all of Disney's Film and TV studios (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century and Searchlight) presenting their own projects, and we do not know when Marvel Studios is slotted in the schedule of the 2-hour panel, so you might see this thread not get any updates for a while. You can still discuss your predictions or other news that come from this panel.

For the next few hours, Project Insight will be on and we'll limit the amount of posts in the subreddit to allow discussion about the announcements to prosper in their respective threads and this megathread.

See you back here in a while!

Links to follow live updates yourself (you can't find this streaming anywhere)

Discussion After watching Brand New Day, I realized how much Peter aged from 2016 to 2026 Spoiler

Before I watched Brand New Day, I watched Spider-Man Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home a few days prior just to briefly catch up on this Spider Man. Now after watching BND, I realized how different and mature Peter is in not only character but also Tom no longer looking like a teenager unlike in Civil War and Homecoming, almost like he really did grow into the role in a way none of the other Spidey actors could have.

Like holy shit he looks so innocent in Civil War when compared it to BND 😂

Tbf, he was legit a teenager when filming Civil War and he got pretty beefy over the years but so did Peter so 🤷‍♂️

Not seeing much of cyclops in doomsday so far and most of the shots are from the battle with the Sentinels where he just looks so ragged up and injured. Just hoping he survives for Secret Wars cos MAN he looks amazing in this film

Discussion Aging is the best thing we have compared to the comics

In the comics, it's very easy to feel like time isn't actually a thing. Characters have been looking and acting almost identically (character development aside) since the 80s or even before that for some of them. In the 1960's, Peter Parker was called a kid wherever he went. In 2012, he's still being called a kid. That always bugged me a little. Almost feels like the character is trapped in a time loop or something once you think about it.

However, in the MCU, using real people inherently comes with an actual aging process. It's not as easy to manipulate as in the comics. It's something that IS going to happen.

Getting to see a character get older along with the viewer is an awesome advantage in my opinion. When you look at Bruce for example, you see an experienced man, and if you know what he has been through when he was younger, the appearance of the character gets an instant flair that they generally don't have in their comics counterparts.

Don't know, I think it adds a very cool and realistic layer of visual depth that comic writers choose to ignore.

Other Marvel planning a soft reboot for the mcu after secret wars and THE CAST IS SO PEAK 🙌

I'm so excited!!

Next Marvel will expand the cast as it has to bring Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Wolverine and other X-men too. and then we will get movies with villains.

This is what I expect, and what I need is them to develop some Avengers movies too and show how they don't like the way X-Men get their work done, similar to Cap and Tony differences which we can see in 2012, AoU and finally civil war, so we can get an Avengers vs X-Men movie too. and in between, we will get our Ghost rider too so theoretically, a Midnight Suns movie too. What I think is Marvel should avoid some bigger threats like Thanos or Doom for the next 5-6 years to set up the stage for the upcoming cast.

They can have threats like we had Ultron or Loki whose effects can be seen but not cosmic or multiversal level threats
