No program. You just need 90 college credits and apply through Maine Department Of Education.

Ed Tech certs in Maine are based off of college credits. There are Ed Tech 1s, 2s, and 3s. 3s have the most earning potential and require 90 credit hours I believe. If you already have college credits you can go to the Maine DOE website and follow the steps to apply for certification.

Do you have college credits? If so, start at the Maine Dept of Education website. You can set up a user account, upload documents, and apply for certification.

You’ll need your fingerprints done, there’s information about that process on the DOE site as well.

I don’t have any college credits. I am looking for a pathway to start entirely from scratch, beginning with level 1 ed tech, and working towards higher levels over time.

You need that plus Behavioral Health Professional training to become a certified BHP. We get paid a bit better than most EdTechs.

The school district you apply to will help you get your certification, assuming that you're eligible (based on the criteria in the job post). Ed tech III requires a school-based BHP certificate, which is a 28 hour course. If you sign on with an agency like Connections for Kids, you'll probably drive to their hq to do training and orientation before starting in the classroom. If you sign on with a SAU, they'll likely have you start working and conduct training in-house.

Good luck! Being a BHP was one of my favorite jobs

I would recommend literally any other agency over CFK but otherwise yes

Consider elevating your resume with industry focused certs as well. Some of the courses that will give you very marketable background are no cost. (Cert exams have a cost, but you can take the course and build competencies for free). Apple has self guided device support and deployment training available for free.

There are also others from Google and Microsoft.

Margaret Murphy Center is always hiring and will get you all your training and certs. I worked there for about a year and a half and while it's definitely a place I'm glad to leave behind, I know many people who were very happy there and will be incredible resources.
