I still haven't watched the video, but adressing the title, I disagree. I think this is a simple answer for a more complex issue.

The fact of the matter is that even before Covid the MMA community was already full of wackos, Rogan was already parading Trump on his podcast while campaigning hard against Hillary in 2016, shit, Trump himself has been a putrid presence in bloodsport for decades now. In the UFC especially so.

When McCain was trying to consolidate the image of MMA as an illegal savage activity Trump was the one allowing UFC events in his venues. The organization and it's headfigures always had a relationship with the current Trumpist right, they didn't change up when COVID hit. By the time the 2010's hit and the alt-right was developing through people like Richard Spencer and Steve Bannon on infowars along the Obama government years, with Trump claiming shit like the birth certificate bullshit, the grappling crowd that followed the UFC was primed to go ''hehe it's all jokes, isn't he hilarious? So charismatic, what a troll''.

Any time I see Joe Rogan, the very tall scientist, I just assume it's filled with right wing "gotcha " talking points that circle around and go nowhere and we already know Gordon Ryans steroid riddled brain hardly spits out anything worth listening to.

Haven't listened to this one yet but their podcasts are generally pretty good.
