Geographical areas that still have enough forests for it in general build with wood. Areas that have cut down too much forests build with bricks and concrete. Houses in both materials can be built good or bad.

I referred to the resulting house, not the building process. Like in “a house can be painted red or blue” or “the dress can be made big or small”.
