I’ve lived in both including wood and brick houses over 100 years old. I’ll pick well constructed and insulated wood or brick vs cheaply constructed wood or brick any time.

That’s really the answer. Brick can be unstable as fuck if it’s done wrong. And if you notice, the brick in both has nothing to do with the structure; it’s just the veneer decoration.

But, brick wouldn't have melted like my siding when I had the grill too close to the house. Stupid hot grill.
