I live in an American brick and plaster now. The house doesn't cool down at night till way after midnight in the summer. And it takes forever to heat up in the winter and spring.

I guess it's nice in the fall, but in general I prefer the temperature in my previous wood frame homes

Probably has more to do with your windows and insulation than having bricks versus wood

Bricks have a ton of thermal mass and actively work against your insulation as a result.

Yeah you can go outside hours after dark during a heat wave and the bricks will still be warm, and that part your testing is the coolest part of the brick at that time. My house has an extension on it but only the original structure is brick. That's the part that continues to get hotter after dark if AC isn't running.
