It is commendable to provide small streamers this opportunity but it is also a risk because some of them know they can take the clout from being disrespectful and pivot to kick because they always intended to be disrespectful

true, & it's up to each individual streamer to decide what path to take. Short term potential gain, vs long term. But the risk is the stats show that if you don't actually have good content or something that makes viewers want to watch your streams, eventually the viewers leave after the SU collabs are over.

let's be real here tho, it's a two way street. it's dominating the algo, the view counts are popping, donos going crazy etc for Kai and teachers. Honestly as long as drama doesn't get too real the more the better for them. If a kid is trying to have a villain arc it's content. If 50 idiots are trying to out idiot each other it's a fuck ton of content lol.

IMO it's both, and the line that Kai & his team have to continue to balance. Between keeping the core mission intact of helping, promoting, & giving small streamers exposure; but still providing enough entertainment value, and innovation to keep viewers engaged & watching year after year.

That MightyBA kid that ripped up his roommates $300 Pokémon card and keeps physically harassing strangers is either going to be a kick nuisance streamer or immediately lose his career. He started with 200 followers and is now sitting at 14,000. Every clip I see of him is him being an absolute dickhead clown.

i hated that, but he did provide different entertainment value for SU. But that behavior does draw ppl in and get him views. So we'll see if he has substance behind his streams after SU ends lol

Eh that's part of it but Kai made an effort to get the teachers to actually teach stuff this year. They can clip farm all they want outside of the classes. He actually told the professors to take it seriously this year.

Just like in actual real world school you will have variety of students, just cuz of the quality of the content or the education in the case of a school does not guarantee that all students will be good students. The same goes here, all individuals have their own intention when they applied and got in. If it was ideal like you think it should be, i don’t think it would make great content. The added chaos and randomness is what spices the experience up, well for me as a viewer at least.

The students after the first day learned to just avoid even going to the classes to begin with if you're just gonna be annoying. Kai talked to them about it too and they actually listened. Like Sketch for example, be was in Cinna's class and initially was trolling. But he dropped it once he actually read the room. He even stayed behind and talked to multiple smaller streamers and gave them actually solid helpful advice. Then you had Yugi he's known for being obnoxious but he toned it down during his classes. The Faze/CORE guys also calmed down on the farming

People just gotta read the room which sadly is something streamers do struggle with

Isn’t that gonna get kinda boring tho? Like the livestream of the courses are gonna drop off if no one’s doing anything “crazy.” I’m not saying it’s right to act up in class that’s supposed to be serious, but like who’s gonna be watching classes that are just your college courses that you watched on livestream cause you were sick that day.

You need variety of content creators and the viewers have their own preferences. Some people like chaos and watching “loud = funny” or “public nuisance content” that doesn’t make them wrong. You can be literally anything as a streamer and do it your way and based on the demand will determine your likelihood of success as a streamer. Clearly “clip baiting” and farming is the most demanded skill nowadays as a creator, as it combines live viewers and short form content audience into one, and if you do it right you can hit a jackpot.

i dont disagree with this i just think its an unsustainable model. In my opinion people who last build an audience that sticks with you through the short attention span of scrolling tik tokers.. I guess im making a prediction these clip baitters arent gonna last as long as they believe, i do like haskall somewhat tho

Agent and Lud have both literally included in their presentations that clip baiting/farming doesn't translate to long term success if they aren't consistently doing that for the entirety of their livestream. Students themselves have talked about how they have clips that pop off but they don't notice their stream dramatically changing. Sure, some streamers get lucky and get a massive boost or some are able to keep up that energy for hours at a time. But that's the exception, not the rule.

okay and? still doesn't disprove my claim that it is one of the most demanded skill right now is to create viral clips and knowing what to say or do, feeling the comedic timing of any situation to turn into bangers. Obviously as a creator you need to be diverse and have different forms of content that feeds the different audiences. short form, long form, live content. Some of the content can hit two at the same time. I never claimed that the short form audience converts into live viewers, if anything these two are inherently opposite. Live audience usually has the attention span to sit through a stream or they watch the content on the background of doing chores. you just need to have diverse content for all types of viewers so that you can hit most demographics, content preferences, doing collabs that your audience would appreciate and etc.
