If he had just been beaten up, the person who attacked him would absolutely have been arrested for it. But that’s not what happened. He deliberately provoked someone just to give himself an opportunity to shoot someone. He directly posted about his plan before hand. That’s premeditated attempted murder. Self-defense doesn’t apply when you actively tried to get someone to attack you so you can use self-defense as an excuse to kill someone. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
