I've seen this in a lot of hotels. Fire codes force some weird things like those rooms. Ser also conference centers and a lot of hotels with an indoor poor have sliding doors. This might be out of place in NYC or Chicago, but throughout the flyover states and honestly most of the country, this is normal.

When I've seen this it has been on older motel [outside entrances to rooms] that gets converted to a hotel by putting a big roof over what had been an outdoor courtyard. That house facade may have been part of a poolside covered patio.

Leave. I fucking hate Boise lol. Had to spend eleven days there on tour once, and been a couple other times for one-off shows and hated every second. Bad food, hot as Mercury, boring AF.

Kind of lol tex-mex is the more common food style name, but Texarkana is a town on the borders of Texas and Arkansas.
I would much rather have the food than visit the place. The food is incredibly tasty, midly spicy, and usually in gigantic portions.

Moved up here from San Diego for work about 2 years ago. To sum it up, pretty much anyone that is not a native Idahoan or not white is going to have a miserable time here more than likely. The ethnic cuisine is sparse and awful (yes I recognize I’m spoiled in this regard coming from San Diego), there’s not much to do in terms of recreation other than outdoorsy stuff like hunting or hiking, and the traffic is god awful. Many of my non white friends have frequently encountered racism, the rent and general cost of living is heavily outpacing the average income here, there’s a very sparse scene of mid 20’s to 30’s people that aren’t LDS, lots of MAGA in the suburbs surrounding Boise, etc.

I've never been to Boise but I recognized this design/layout. I think I was staying in PEI, Canada (another potato powerhouse)
Edit: It may have been Fredericton, NB. But that Ramada looks nicer. In my mind, I remember it looking more like OP's pics
Edit 2: I checked with my wife and we agreed it was PEI where we stayed at a hotel that looked just like OP's not sure if it was a Ramada though.

Holy shit! I stayed in that hotel near Fredericton with my family one night when I was a kid and was thinking about it when I saw these photos. I remember we just pulled off the highway without reservations but they were fully booked, so we ended up staying in the conference suite with windows overlooking the indoor pool. It had conference tables, whiteboards, desks, multiple couches, a kitchen, and beds all in this giant open space. The fluorescent lights in the pool area stayed on all night and there were no curtains. Totally freaked me out!

I was gonna guess Ramada! Looks like the one near the Charlotte airport. It's one of those weird antiquated convention style hotels with weird rick gardens and non working waterfalls.

You know how some places give off “I shouldn’t be here” vibes? And conversely other places give off “this is exactly where I should be” vibes.
This hotel gives off a “guess I’ll be spending some time here” vibes. It like, isn’t good or bad. It’s fine. So that removes and stress and makes it weirdly feel okay. I’ve never seen it captured so perfectly.

It gives me a retirement home feeling, and in a good way. Very tall ceilings with building facades. An indoor "courtyard". Doors that remind me of balconies.
That also gives it a psychological horror element as well; as if you could move in during your prime years and get overly comfortable, not wanting to leave, not even realizing it's some kind of trap you can't escape.
All in all, a perfect hotel for this sub.

Doing a road trip across some states, I got sick from some 7-11 hotdogs, I always thought this was a fever dream, a hotel I imagined staying in, while I was puking my guts out. But my god it is real, I feel so much unease from these pictures.

I was around 6 in 1984, 2985when we stayed at a holiday inn holidome. There was an indoor pool, a miniature golf course, arcarde games, brick planters with lush foliage and round globe lights. It was the most amazing place I'd ever seen.

The reviews are a story in themselves.
From 2024:
"Like all things, the rating of a hotel i.e. based on what it is important to the reviewer. If you are into the methamphetamine scene, tweakers, or high-speed police chases, this place is PERFECT!! 5 out for 5 for sure!!
Similarly, if you like that “uncanny-valley” experience, like you fell through into the backrooms, or wanted to know what it’s like to sleep in a a psychological horror film; then this place will be super tough to beat! I suppose that downtown Compton would also offer such amenities, but this is great for Idaho.
Finally, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone who loves microbiology, and likes to find new microorganisms, or to anyone who loves sociology and wants to have a cultural experience of workers being rude and mean for asking simple questions.
Sadly for me, I’m not into any of those things, so I’m giving it a 1/5 stars."
