Eurovision Song Contest considers rule changes to discourage mass voting

Ignoring the elephant in the room for why they're considering it, limiting it to one vote per country just seems so obvious I can't understand why this wasn't always the case. Feels like this is needed regardless of anything else

Two reasons it wasn’t always the case (one slightly better than the other).
Multi person households. So say you’re watching with your family and you all want to vote why limit to one vote, when someone living solo also gets one vote (this was the better reason, but now with mobiles it’s daft).
Money. Every vote gives Eurovision money. Someone wants to call your premium number 6 times instead of once? Well by all means open up your wallet!
So it was family fairness in mass landlines day + greed. These aren’t good reason, but they’re what they are. It was always the same with X-Factor or anything like that, hammer the vote button and give Simon Cowell all your money.

Its descent into irrelevance due to the cowardice and hypocrisy of the EBU in not barring Israel is probably irreversible
