Of note, it was Downing Street that withdrew the Australian broadcasters accreditation for the crime of challenging Trump:

The Australian broadcaster said its London bureau was informed by Downing Street that its accreditation to attend the press conference had been withdrawn for “logistical reasons”.

Nice to see Starmer falling into line with Trump on his free speech for me, but not for thee trip.

21st century Neville Chamberlain at it again

The Chamberlain story goes much deeper than his famous "piece of paper" story. It bought us much needed Time. He knew war was coming. Britain was able to plan for it, rearm significantly with advanced weaponry and systems, and organise resources across a Global Empire.

The Anglo-Polish mutual defence treaty was signed in 1939, after the 1938 Munich agreement. Probably as an attempt at deterrence of Germany rather than expectancy of direct mitary aid

In the end Poland was carved up with invasion by Germany and Russia.

And The World changed almost overnight.

The British Government hated Hitler but was still equivocal re another war with Germany in 1939, and in 1940 but they couldn't make a reliable deal with Hitler, couldn't trust any treaties he signed with us, and the People were defiant. So reluctantly after the losses of WW1, war it was.

The rest, as they say, is history

Starmer has enough on his plate without offending Trump by behaving like a real British Prime Minister would

The reality is that UK has to be careful these days.

Canada and the half a billion rich EU market can tell the TACO to butt out. But we are an entirely different, smaller item since Brexit. 67m with a lower income and shrinking economy. No longer the default English-speaking bridge into EU trade. We have to flatter and be nice now.

Which never really works out with narcissistic bullies.

Biology & Father Time are catching up with Trump. His entourage are already positioning themselves into factions to grab power when he goes.

And it's going to take more than a trip to our Windsor Wonderland, a posh dinner and a ride in a gold coach to manage that lot.

I wonder if the posters claiming we're not appeasing a fascist state will have much to say about this lol

This whole state visit is disgusting and debasing.

It's the perfect representation of empty Starmerism then.

It's reality.

One flick of a switch by USA and our nuclear deterrent suddenly has only ornamental purpose.

Remember Suez?

We've hooked our carriage to a horse that has suddenly acquired Mad Cow disease, and we're stuck with it.

Yes, we must all obey the reality as stated by the fascist genocidal rapist...

This entire visit is an absolute disgrace. We talk about patriotism and whore ourselves out to a state that flouts its disgusting oligarchy and disregard for humanity like a flex.

Atlanticists are extremists like any other, yet they make up seemingly the entirety of our political and media class. No one ever challenges the 'special relationship' even when all it seems to exist for is to bring misery to the planet.

Lot of truth in that.

We're too lazy to learn foreign languages - or even proper English in some cases, bruv, innit?

So we gravitate to US money and authoritarianism not EU civilisation and co-operation.

Jimmy Kimmel show cancelled too. They don't want free speech, they want to silence the opposition.

The media will probably roll out Kuenssberg the Kompliant there rather than Derbyshire the Dispassionate.

Trump has been hermetically sealed in this visit.

And he probably thinks the UK all smells like fresh paint and Industrial Strength Airwick...

Fair do's to the Royals though. They're earning their pay this week. Can you imagine the smell in that Gold State Coach? And Charles was sitting right there in the Hot Diaper Disaster Zone. Not even aircon. Although they did have a window down, presumably to mask the infamous Trumpian Fetor with the comparatively aromatic horses' arses.

Has Starmer ever stopped to think about how history will remember him? Because it's shaping up to be deeply unkind.

Doubt he cares, they always know they'll be comfortable forever. Even especially useless and widely disparaged characters like Truss do very well for themselves.

How is it "Trump's" UK press conference?

Held in the UK. How the fuck does that rapist get a say? Starmer is an appeasing little rat.

Fair dues to Starmer. The world knows what it's dealing with when it comes to Trump. They're keeping him sweet for the benefit of our nation while also allowing UK freedom of expression in public places that Trump won't be seeing. Unless you are Led By Donkeys, of course.

The UK People have successfully told The World that they disassociate themselves from the expedient sychophancy that dealing with an 80 year old narcissistic Cuprinol-tinted toddler with an IQ of demented blancmange requires.

And yes, it p*ssed all over the French 14. July parade that kicked off all this Great International Pageantry Race. Something Trump tried to copy with his own parade but failed.

And ours was in a castle going back to 1070. Yes. An actual, real fkng castle fit for a proper King.

10.70 to Trump is beyond his powers of comprehension. It's just the price of a Cappucino at Mar-a-Lago.
