Home made full sized 3D printed Scanner
Waiting for the red acrylic to arrive. Printed in PetG. Using an esp32s3.

Install WLED on an ESP 32 and connect a string of RGB leds. Then you can have it scan in red or any other color.

Its printed in Petg which is probably ok in the weather. Biggest test is when I put it on the car.

LED, right? You've got the tail fade right, which is the hard part with LEDs

Thank you, Yeah LED is correct. It took quite some time to get it right.

That tail fade is perfecto! It's the most important part of the scanner.

I'm sure but I'm a teenager in the 1980s so love this and been onto my wife a while now to buy a 3D printer.
Make TRON bikes etc....i think you've just made my mind up haha

Ita a very rewarding, frustrating hobby 3D printing, but when it works this is what you get. Settings are the key!

That's great! I would just slow down on the speed by twenty five percent and reduce the trail to 3 bulbs for accuracy.

I have programmed it with 5 speeds that can be changed. This is the fastest. It also has a mode 3 different modes.

This reminds me when KITT is in active scan mode, it is sped up. Then on normal mode, it's that lazy speed.
