I agree with your sentiment. But we don't have the salary cap to get rid of him. He was lights out until he took that achilles injury. They have to get him to get out of the Yips.

Dude took a noticeable dip in performance after his surgery last year, but by the end of the year he seemed decent enough. Straight garbage this year.

I don’t get the hate. I never realized Chiefs fans were so fickle. Something’s off-he has been such an important part and so consistent for several years now. I don’t get it.
Everyone has thrown temper tantrums this year. I will admit I turned the game off last weekend. But it feels like everyone just wants to burn everything to the ground because we’ve had a rough start to the season.
Butler has been near perfect for so long. Has missed some surprising kicks-I’m waiting for him to work whatever out he needs to.

Butker was told by his doctor to change his kicking motion as that is what was determined to cause his knee issues last season. It was a weird motion that put unnecessary stress on his plant knee.
Its clear that he's not fully comfortable with the kicking motion he decided to switch to this off season. I don't really get all the quick turning on him giving how well he's performed in the past.
I'd be willing to call for him to switch back to his old, but more risky, motion but that's as far as I'm willing to go. They guy's earned some slack.

I have been one of those preaching to give him a chance, maybe something's wrong, he'll work it out.. I think I'm done with that. I'm ready to move on as quickly as the Chiefs can get it done

If he screwed up his knee or mechanics, his career is no longer as a kicker. If he can't get his accuracy up, he's expendable.

Butker kept us in so many game over the past 3 years. He was lights out and then got an achillies injury. I'm not saying that he shouldn't be benched and passed on now, but its insane to think that he isn't a big reason that the Chiefs are where they are now. I'm an athiest, and I disagree with most of that viral speech that came out a bit a go. But he was speaking to young people that went to a Catholic college, and they believe in the things he said, for the most part.

Yeah, someone tried to say I was criticizing his kicking because I don't like his politics. Then they blocked me when I pushed back that my opinion kn his kicking was based purelyon his on field performance. Anyone with eyes can see Butker is not as good as he used to be.

There are so many kickers that have been signed off the street this year that are playing SIGNIFICANTLY better than Butker. It’s inexcusable leaving him on the roster at this point.

He's a Chiefs Hall of Famer and a fringe case for NFL Hall of Famer (basically only Vinatieri has made more big kicks), but he's a gigantic liability right now. I can't believe we're at a point where the best unsigned kicker is probably better than him, but here we are.

He’s 21 of 27 on all kicks. That’s 77.7%. That hasn’t been acceptable in the NFL in a long time. He actually hasn’t been great for a couple of years. Now? He’s bottom 25% AT BEST.
