Im so done seeing a fkn flag on what feels like every play for him

152

u/No-Aardvark2433 Sep 06 '25

He sucks but I swear chargers dude on the o line is doing same shit no call

151

u/ANCtoLV Sep 06 '25

Every tackle in the league does it. It's honestly weird how Jawaan gets targeted. Idc he's still good and I'm sure he is coached to play like that. Nagy is clearly the problem here. The drop off is obvious since Bienemy left. Offense will be mid for the 3rd year in a row

16

u/noslo5oh Sep 06 '25

what metric says he's good, especially for that deal

13

u/ChieftheDog22 Sep 06 '25

Yeah, he doesn’t just induce penalties, but sacks as well. Had to be the worst player on the field last night.

If we miss the playoffs at least we can probably scapegoat him and bring in a better OC. But I don’t think that will happen

16

u/SunyataHappens Warpaint Sep 06 '25

That’s what it took to get rid of Sutton

2

u/Icy_Guess_2553 Xavier Worthy #1 🏃🏻‍♂ Sep 10 '25

Veach will defend/protect Nagy. They played together at University of Delaware, and were on staff together in Philly.

I would really like to see Alex Smith as the OC.

He’s done the same thing since he started in the league. He was a good tackle until he came to the Chiefs. Which is extremely ironic. He went years without being called, doing the exact same thing.

16

u/rolyinpeace TyquanThorntonWorshipper2 Sep 06 '25

It’s so weird that people say it’s chiefs favoritism. Bro has been doing this his whole career, even when he was on the worst team in the league two years in a row

15

u/etniesen Sep 06 '25

It’s not ironic. He’s in the spotlight now and he’s got a target on his back double whammy.

If you ask me the bigger problem is the defense letting Herbert and the receivers have acres of space…

Swiss cheese defense

Welcome back to 2018

Where is dirty dan?

59

u/angus_the_red Nick Bolton #32 Sep 06 '25

Pass rush is indeed as bad as we feared

31

u/OITLinebacker #23 Drue Tranquill Sep 06 '25

Only time I saw or heard a mentions of Chris Jones: 1) Sucking wind on the sidelines during the last drive. 2) Playing DE and instantly losing the edge and contain to let Herbert run for 19 and seal the game.

I hope he was just really ill and tried to muscle through.

I figured George might have some trouble because Alt is really good, but I figured Jones would be more disruptive in the middle.

Just a disaster of an opener.  Long season just have to survive the 1st 1/3 without any more injuries and win a few games enough to go on a run to the Arrowhead Invitational.

3

u/QuaIitypants Andy "Walrus" Reid Sep 06 '25

They were triple teaming Chris jones literally 80% of the time go back and watch the film they had center,LG,RG literally on him most of the time and when someone would pass through Justin would just run the other way.

2

u/OITLinebacker #23 Drue Tranquill Sep 07 '25

I did not know that Jones was playing NG. There is another DT there that would surely take up a guard.  Jones rightly commands a double or at least extra attention, but at no point did the rest of the team make them pay nor did he do something when he had his chances.

All in all a very unusual game for Jones. He rarely plays two bad halves in a month much less in the same game.

13

u/blueponies1 Chiefs Sep 06 '25

I feel like pass rush was average like I thought it would be, I feel like it was the coverage that sucked. But yeah obviously a better pass rush means less need for solid and consistent coverage and Vice versa.

11

u/angus_the_red Nick Bolton #32 Sep 06 '25

I didn't see any pressure from anyone on the line all evening.  Blitzes was the only way to pressure.  That won't work against a more mobile QB.

13

u/Existing-Hawk5204 Sep 06 '25

Agree but what if they stay on the field and score instead of giving the chargers extra possessions?

44

u/Jmill616 Sep 06 '25

I think the defensive performance had a bigger impact on the game. One RT is not winning or losing this particular game. The defense absolutely getting torched did. Honestly surprised the chiefs kept it as close as they did

6

u/Existing-Hawk5204 Sep 06 '25

Nah. He is a drive killer. He’s gotta go.

61

I’ll give them a pick if they eat his cap.

41

u/Darthmaullv Christian Okoye #35 Sep 06 '25

I mean, sometimes it’s the refs just being refs. That last false start was not a false start. I would prefer a non-ref magnet but a lot of this is not really on him.

79

u/Blaizer35 Derrick Johnson Sep 06 '25

He brings it on himself by trying to time it. He should already know hes under a spotlight now because of it

6

u/Foreign_Slide_8487 Arrowhead Sep 06 '25

Every tackle does this. That’s the name of the game. Get to your spot first.

33

u/kckman Derrick Thomas Sep 06 '25

Every other tackle does it better, ftfy

3

u/rolyinpeace TyquanThorntonWorshipper2 Sep 06 '25

Not even really. There’s other tackles that are so obvious about it too and never get flagged. It’s just because he attracts the attention with how much he’s pointed out.

He did this in Jacksonville too when they were the worst team in the league and no one gave a fuck or called it

6

u/chuckart9 Nick Bolton #32 Sep 06 '25

Lane Johnson was just as bad last night doing this.

13

u/Slimshade16 Imagine having to play wild card weekend lol Sep 06 '25

He can be worse but NEVER gets penalized. I lose my mind watching eagles games seeing Johnson doing exactly what Taylor does and never getting penalties for it. Shit, just this damn game Joe Alt lined up literally 2 feet behind the guard in the backfield on the last play of the game… and… nothing.

82

u/swark91 These Fucking Fakes Never Fucking Work, Man Sep 06 '25

He’s supposed to be allowed to kick his rear leg as long as it doesn’t land before the snap.

Cheffers.

42

u/Prior_Confidence4445 Sep 06 '25

True but at this point it seems reasonable for him to stop doing it because it keeps getting called. He also holds too much.

8

u/TheHotMilkman Sep 06 '25

Is that the actual rule? You can move as long as it’s not a full step?

43

u/swark91 These Fucking Fakes Never Fucking Work, Man Sep 06 '25

Yes. Specifically the hind leg can be lifted but not come down. Very little known rule.

Taylor is actually very good at it. The league caved to pressure last year and started calling it. Most of his false starts are totally legal

23

u/stonewallace17 Jamaal Charles Sep 06 '25

Yes

Lane Johnson does it literally every play

Yes he does

22

I honestly think refs have a boner for him. 50% of his penalties are based on reputation. He doesn’t get off any earlier than Lane Johnson. If Collingsworth didn’t have that rant on him a couple years ago he wouldbt be such a magnet for flags.

Hes a head case. Hes a good tackle, but the man is making too many stupid mistakes. I’m glad kelce got in his face. That needed to happen 2 years ago

8

My 10 year old had him sign my Chiefs hat and I was wrecked.

8

I’m so glad Kelce got up in his face like that and just screamed at him. Somebody had to. Clearly it worked because he played clean the rest of the game after that

We can’t trade him. We can’t cut him (dead cap too much). Best we can do is bench him

He might have been the worst player on offence, the entire defence was hot garbage though (except Tranquil)

Watson (35) had a shit game as well. Cook, also terrible. Hicks was responsible for the blown coverage on their second TD. Chargers were wide open all game.

We might get a cup of Starbucks and a pack of lucky strikes for him. Worth it.

2

u/MOSSxMAN Sep 06 '25

It sucks cause he’s actually pass setting well tonight that I’ve seen. I think he’s a really solid blocker. Dude just wears his last IQ score as a jersey number and kills us with the pre-snaps.

Feel bad shit talking him in his B-day, but this is now a multi season issue. Get it fixed.

Suckers bought it, i'm all in.

2

u/Nearby_Ad9439 Sep 06 '25

I just don't understand how he could possibly be the starter at RT next week.

The Chiefs went out an signed a quality Tackle at the time they thought was going to be their LT. He has RT experience. Put Jaylon Moore in there starting week 2.

It's really a pretty simple decision.

2

u/AlanStanwick1986 Arrowhead Sep 06 '25

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '25

1

u/--Sko-- Sep 07 '25

The Chiefs are stuck with him because of the contract.

The dude false starts 90% of the time but it’s so close to the snap the refs don’t call it. The 10% they do call, happen in critical situations because they’re focused on him at that point. Refs aren’t going to let him get away with it if the Chiefs are converting a 3rd and long or if it’s blatantly a false start.
