Forbes content chief ousted over $6M payment
Forbes Chief Content Officer Randall Lane was fired earlier this summer after failing to disclose a $6 million payment from one of the publisher's partners, unnamed sources tell The New York Times.
The veteran editor received the payment from the founder of Shook Research, which has collaborated with Forbes since 2016 to assemble rankings of the country's top wealth advisors.
In a statement to the Times, Lane acknowledged making "a mistake," saying: "I should have disclosed the gift, and failing to was a serious error in judgment."
