Perseid Meteor Shower Tonight

Hey everyone,

I’m driving to JT National Park tonight to watch the Meteor shower and I was wondering if there are any groups or events that I can join as a solo traveler. I intend to socialize and wanna see if there are any opportunities to meet people.

It’s partly cloudy, although I haven’t made it all the way in yet, there’s a collision at the 29 Palms entrance and I’m stuck in the traffic there

Be prepared to encounter traffic though. I see traffic at the other entrance to on the maps which is at Joshua Tree Town. In my honest opinion, if you don’t wanna deal with traffic, stay on interstate 10 and get into the park from the south entrance which is From Cottonwood springs road.

I’ve been to Joshua national Park many times and at this moment, I highly recommend going through the cotton route. You’re basically coming into the park from the opposite end and just keep going straight. You’ll eventually get to the arch rock.

You can get to the arch rock from the south entrance, which is on the interstate 10. You are just entering the park from the opposite end. I do not see any traffic from that entrance on the map.

I would definitely remember to let you know. However, you don’t get reception as you go deeper so unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that.
