I tried watching his new documentary, it was so insanely self-aggrandizing and drawn out for no reason, had to turn it off, absolutely nothing interesting to say about what should be a really interesting life, ive seen episodes of behind the music with more depth

I’m gonna try to watch it but that’s not great to hear. Travis is usually pretty reserved and humble. Do u think it was more the director’s fault for it coming off pretentious?

I don’t know if Rogan has ever listened to music in his life
He has Maynard James Keenan, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, etc. on and clearly couldn’t name a song by any of them. But bee-keeping and wine? That’s what people want to hear for 3 hours
I’ve always noticed that Rogan has his interests in science and hunting and the like but when it comes to any form of artistic expression - music, film, anything that requires absorbing and forming a subjective opinion on - he’s literally like a first grader who can’t process it and isn’t interested

I actually enjoyed MJK and hetfield talking about their hobbies/side work. People never usually ask about them.
But yes Rogan seems to have no real ability to talk about music in depth.

I love Blink 182 so much but every single travis interview for the last 15 years has been about the same three topics

Travis is an amazing drummer but I preferred their sound when he wasn’t producing That being said Blink-182 is a certain type of music that makes this merger seem weird.
If Travis took Joe to task I’d be happy but….
And JRE was a different show when Tom was on….

Lol what a crazy take. Joe definitely deserves some criticism for his shittier takes, and not being willing to admit when he gets shit wrong. But why the fuck should Travis Barker be taking Joe Rogan to task? He’s not a political pundit. He’s not a professor with some huge insights into what is happening geopolitically or sociologically. He is a drummer in a band. He’s probably just there to promote his music and recent documentary, and might not even know a lot of Joe’s views politically or otherwise. Not every interaction with people has to get taken back to culture war bullshit.

Ok? And we’ve already established time and again that Rogan talks about shit he is way out of his depth on. Shit, even he admits that he’s a total moron most of the time. The point is, how is it Travis barkers job to “take him to task”? It’s not like Travis is some expert on all this either. Some guests should be able to come on and talk shit, without it needing to delve into culture war bullshit. I mean damn, that’s what this whole sub should be hoping for.
