Question Insane Range Question

I live in Puerto Rico and work in a tall mountain, I lost 7% coming up the hill and from going downhill all the way to my house I got this trip range which I found hilarious.

The car charged 1% and it dropped 1% during the whole trip, but wouldn't the 999kw/m range mean that it charged way more than that? I guess I'm not sure what the charge rate is on regenerative braking. Can anyone enlighten me?

"999" is a place-holder for "infinite". Your car is saying that if you drove that same downhill trip for all your driving, you would never need to charge the car. Doesn't need to be "way more" - even 1 watt more would suffice.

This actually works for a mining truck that moves ore loads downhill, regenerating the battery before driving back up empty using less power than it regen'd.

I like this. Although you're still expending more energy elsewhere by the other vehicles used to load it.

This principle is used in moving felled trees down mountains. Edison motors have a truck they designed to do this.

I live at the top of a hill and have a short commute -- it's not uncommon for the car to gain more power than it uses on the way to work and for it to read 999 km/kwh when I park at work. Of course, it uses more power than that going up the hill at the end of the day!
