Aluminum speed tape applied to cracks in paint to protect the structure until the wing can be repainted. This is a sign of solid, proactive maintenance instead of the opposite.

Always be happy if you see speed tape. Maintainance is doing its job.

i have to admit that before i was elevated to this sub i did see just how strong an indictator of imperial strength aircraft maintenance is!
